Vebruggen should concentrate on doing what he’s paid to do, you know actually attempt to stop the ball going in the net, I’m a fat 50 year old fella and I would have saved their first goal !
Shocking from him yesterday, he’s miles off being a top keeper unfortunately, despite what some on here have been saying.

Unfortunately the Amex crowd currently replicates the boy in charge of the team! Rarely makes a noise, has little presence and normally only raises the a murmur at the referee!

This. I went f***ing nuts at Bart when he started waving his arms at the north. I rate the guy BUT read the bloody room fella. We are 0-2 down vs our fiercest rivals and have stunk the place out on the pitch for 45 minutes. How about get your heads down and work.
Oh and to the muppet moaning about the atmosphere from his TV, when his location looks to be 20 miles away, do shut up.

I think they have a point, t he North Stand and West Stand are pretty poor when its not going well.
I also cant wait for the away fans to be moved from behind that goal, its a big mistake we should have sorted seasons back

Lots of players were trying To gee up the crowd , how about playing better , creating some chances , winning some tackles and put in a decent performance might help to gee up the crowd

I commented on another player doing the gee up thing (it may have been minteh) second half. It's one thing if in the final minutes you are pushing for a winner and you want every last ounce out of the crowd as your own legs are heaving with lactic having put in a shift. But when you have been pony, it maybe just maybe be the best thing to concentrate on your own performance
As for tv atmosphere, I commented from my spot in east lower just how quiet I thought the palace fans had been. They didn't come in confidence (if they'd seen our recent games they would have done). But they reacted as their team did their job

trouble is, in the north where I was, all the oxygen had been sucked out of the air by our woeful performance and made it hard to vocally support therefore.
The atmosphere was poor from the start and then their first goal completely killed it. I thought it was embarrassing to see the players trying to gee up the crowd so early in the game - they really shouldn't feel the need to do that. Yes they played f***ing terribly but the crowd really wasn't up for it - was the typical Sunday 2pm atmosphere we'd get against the likes of Bournemouth or Sheffield United, not your biggest rivals.

I've never seen so many empty seats in the 1901 and WSL for a league game v Palace. I do hope patronising emails are incoming for all those who stayed away.
The police 'operation' was predictably OTT yesterday, it doesn't help IMO.
Agreed - assuming it was their idea not to have the Heineken men outside the concourse pre-game.
Hürzeler has said a few times that it's down to him and his players to drive the atmosphere and that it's not up to us to inspire them to perform.
Clutching at straws if you think that would have made any difference on Sunday.

Well we will never know... there is a reason Bart, Pedro and a few others were trying to get the atmosphere going.

There is literally NOTHING any keeper could have done about that first goal. The original cross never reached the near post at a height the keeper can collect it - before JPVH blocks it straight to Sarr (who handles it into the path of Chalobah to smash in from 6 yards).
Very strange take - given that if you want a stick to beat Verbruggen with - he actually WAS shit for the second goal!

I haven't seen the replays back so can't say how much of a handball the 1st goal was but my thought at the time was he was more than culpable for the second and couldn't do much with the 1st. Although Dunk letting Sarr get round the back of him was equally at fault for that second
...and Lamptey for whatever the hell he was doing out on the right, to let his guy bring down the pass and get his (shit) cross in.
Just terrible all round.

Unfortunately, watching the tv at home, for the first ten minutes, all I could hear was the Palace fans and their vile slanderous chants at Dunk. It was very loud and very clear.
I don't know if the club can have a word with Sky, and ask that mikes not be placed in front of the away fans, but it was awful and no apology from Sky about 'industrial language' either.
