Which makes it more non understandable. They are relegated, should stick with their manager who took them up?
Yes, you're right.

'Inevitable' is probably a better fit and where I was aiming with the comment.

Terrible Saints team, although they would have beaten us if it wasn’t for that contentious VAR decision.
No good manager will want this job. Certain relegation.

His absolute refusal to adapt his tactics to the limitations of his squad to PL football was suicidal. When you get promoted you have to make yourself as hard to beat as possible and Saints are probably the worst team defensively since Derby County’s record holding team.
Agree with everything here with the exception of the last bit. Wolves have conceded 40 so far this season compared with Southampton's 36.

And last season after 16 games, Sheffield United had scored 12 but conceded 41, so a GD of -29 and even worse despite being on 8 points then.

But your overall point still stands. The style of playing out from the back punishes Southampton virtually every game. They're effectively down already.

The trust Fab team erase all this crap out of their memory banks. We got out played by f***ing Southampton at home and they can’t see a problem with that.

Well, they've bought players they want to sell in a few years, not players that keep them up this year.

Its a club with the ambition to be profitable. They're likely to keep playing "entertaining" football. Taylor Harewood-Bellis pretending to be a future resale back to City rather than stopping the ball from going into goal is a side effect of their overall way of working.

Tony said "lets stay up first and do the fancy player development stuff later", but Southampton wanted to go with the latter first and foremost and it has left them with a squad with no chance of staying up regardless of football brand.

Such is modern football.

A vacancy mid championship will emerge soon enough for him.

'We' can see a problem with that.

But 'we' don't see a reason to shit the bed.

1 nil down after 1 minute. 4 nil down after 30 mins. 5 nil down at half time. Ouch. Surprised he wasn't sacked at half time
I thought they played OK.

Albeit I did miss the first 4 goals.
I was making a cup of tea.
