It looks to me like he’s responding to coaching - if the managers view recently has been in line with the consensus on here, ie not looking up and passing then he has made good progress today … made several forward passes around the area, seemed to be looking to lay off in areas that I would normally expect him to be launching hopeless shots from

Lost possession a few times admittedly but generally one of his better performances this season. Hopefully build on this

Indeed. Played much more intelligently today.

I liked both his and Gruda‘s cameo‘s today. Both are good on the ball and both came deep to get the ball and drive with it. I’ve harped on about space in my comments this evening and these 2 made it for themselves by dropping off a little.

Doubt either of them will start the next game though, such is FH’s favouritism towards players
Based on today I think Enciso deserves a start next Saturday. He will be aware of the chatter about his form and Albion future and yet in a very dire game state he came on and showed what he can do with just a little focus and maturity.

Amazing what happens when you don’t have a 30 yard gap between the defence and forward line…

FH made a big mistake dropping him from the squad for the last two games, I remain mind boggled that he made such a shit decision.

Maybe that was the kick in the arse he needed. His last appearance before today, he looked literally bored and hardly ran.

Today it was like he had a point to prove and was all over the midfield demanding the ball and driving forwards.

Best game he's had this season at least IMO

Enciso at least injected some URGENCY into our forward play, which had been absolutely stultifying until his introduction. He gets on the ball and uses it quickly - lots of first-time passes, working 1-2's, darting forward runs, and always on the move as soon as he released the ball. Exactly what we had been totally lacking in the first half. By far and away our most dangerous and troublesome player to them, but unfortunately by then the damage had already been done.

Quite why he's been sitting around picking peanuts out of poo for the last couple of weeks, I have no idea.

Exactly, I really hope we don't ship him out, he is far better than some of the new signings atm.

Think he did what he usually does, with the difference that we actually needed it today.

I have no doubt about Julio Enciso being a useful player when you're 2-0 down and have nothing to lose, with opponents sitting deep and defending. I don't think ANYONE doubts that.

The question mark is whether he can play in a game where he has something to lose without desperately trying to win through trying to make everything on his own. Thats the real test and I suspect it'll come against West Ham.
