Russia's good side
Russia's good side
Do you think we're becoming racist or Russophobic on this thread?
2+2 ?Congress has demanded an intelligence report. How do we get from there to Trump throwing Ukraine under the bus? I appreciate he could, but I'm hoping we're not there yet.

Do Russians have a good side? I suspect that some do, but I suspect that those who appear on Youtube videos expressing anti-war views, don't do it a second time. There does seem to be a division between old and young though.

The obvious answer is yes, but the nuanced answer is that it isn't that black and white. I have little idea of the current make-up of the Russian people in terms of support for the Kremlin. I read a while ago that 70% of the population were in favour of the war. I guess that if they knew the real numbers of dead, injured and missing, then that 70% would be a lot less.Of course there are good people in Russia, but you weren't making a comment on the general population, you were talking about appealing to Russia's good side in the context of the Kremlin preparing for peace negotiations. Obviously we're not appealing to the general population, we'd be dealing with the evil Kremlin.

See the post above yours. He's suggesting less aid to Ukraine, but a) that's not throwing Ukraine under the bus and b) that's not what the previous link was talking about.

For a long time now, I've been of the opinion that Putin, as a student of history, is more terrified of the Russian people, than the west, who he seems, with some justification, to regard as a soft touch. His elimination and outlawing of all dissent, and his control freakishness over the Russian media would tend to support this hypothesis.
Take a look at this 6 minute video from Prof, Tim Wilson. He says the Kremlin is facing an ominous time.
I read some time ago (,and no, I don't remember where!!)
IPAMA ("Indeed, please accept my apologies" )Shouldn't that be IDKWIRI ?
IPAMA ("Indeed, please accept my apologies" )
Aren't acronyms meant to reduce time and effort? Not increase it?No apology necessary. You wrote it a lot quicker than I could look up the acronym
A new update from Jake Broe. (Spoiler alert - it's a good one).
Highlights:
1. Russian Z supporter loses his mojo.
2. Russians in Telegram channels accurately describe the outcome of the war.
3. Russian state TV behind the curve a bit and says Russia is negotiating with the Syrian rebels from a position of strength.
4. A positive piece on Trump. He is considering arresting Russians in the US.
5. The dominoes are beginning to fall - there's no more Russian money to keep the lights on in Transnstria, Abkhazia.
