As of 12/12/24, that's quite a depressing notionO'Riley the Gross replacement
Agree. Clubs will be more conservative in what they will pay, IMHO, in order to comply with the sustainability rules. Those huge transfer fees may well have peaked. The problem with people saying 80m+ is that nobody can afford to pay that, so something has to give. Either we accept a lesser offer because that's what the market can afford or we hold on to a potentially unhappy player although JP doesn't seem like the type to throw his toys out the pram.
Pedro is a natural goalscorer
I personally think he is the best natural finisher we have had since Zamora
Hinsh is more of a Groß replacement imoThis
Geoginio is the Pedro replacement.
O'Riley the Gross replacement
When are we going to sign Georginho?Absolutely cannot sell him in January for any price. He's literally priceless in that window, more so if the bidder is a Premier League rival.
I can see him going in the summer for a shit ton of money leaving Georginho the starting 10 next season and us possibly getting in another striker or keeping one that we loaned out, depending on squad assessment. I don't reckon Tony would take less than 80 mill personally.
If we start selling cheap because other sides cant afford our price then maybe they should prioritise their targets . Rangers baulked at a measly 8m for Abdullah Sima , yet paid similar fees to other clubs at the same time thinking they could roll us over on the cheap as they did with Goldson and Murphy .The problem with people saying 80m+ is that nobody can afford to pay that, so something has to give. Either we accept a lesser offer because that's what the market can afford or we hold on to a potentially unhappy player although JP doesn't seem like the type to throw his toys out the pram.
If your right then we could see a lot more swaps with added money`s to a lot of deals ?PSR has changed everything and sale prices will be depressed compared to previous seasons. This will have a knock on effect on the sale prices and model of the final stepping stone clubs like us and those of the clubs we buy off.
If you want upwards of £70m now it has to be for an exceptional player. I'm not sure Joao Pedro fill this category yet. He has had quite a few injuries and he's not really making the Brazil side despite the fact they are struggling. His scoring record is decent, but not spectacular. Let's see how the rest of the season goes.
Anyone looking to buy him will likely be thinking, start at around £45m and maybe go to £55m. That's only a modest profit for us given the risk and outlay we put down. If we qualify for Europe i'm confident Tony would turn this down. Possibly if we don't then it's more attractive, especially as the replacement is at the club. But i'm still not totally convinced we'd be selling for that
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmI'd want 100m
And at the end of season with several interested parties we should get it, certainly close.
The problem with him is i can see him kicking up a fuss if he dose not get his way... i hope to be proven wrong
