Just watched MotD highlights . . . . Stream was poor yesterday.

Credit to RVN for his substitutions, outwitted FH IMO.

Bringing Igor on was a mistake, he gets the blame but we were all in each others way, he had no outlet . . . . Appalling last 5 minutes, every single player bottled it, poor captaincy and management in the situation.

We need big boy pants on Saturday. It's pretty much a nailed on draw statistically, which means well lose with our current mentatlity

Wieffer had his best half for us by miles today. He was very good in nearly everything he did.

How the hell did you not notice that?
When he singed for us i was looking forward to this fantastic Dutch midfielder with some real class , and every game i have seen him play my expectations have dropped . He doesn`t so much tackle as stick a toe in , he pulls out of challenges and spends a lot of time chasing his opponent imo , if you think that was his best half for us then your easily pleased .

Yup... big mistake taking Mitoma off, he was the outlet for any defence clearances, he would have chased down any clearance at least disrupting Lei from regrouping unchallenged.... FH has to carry those strategic mistakes... like removing Ayari and Pedro when he did,... took the pressure right off the opposition.

Oh well, moving on.

I'm not easily pleased at all.

Until yesterday he's been very average and struggled.

When he came on at half time I had a negative reaction.

I then watched him play very well. Won the ball numerous times, picked out some great passes and kept possession well.

Good positioning. Looked confident.

Credit where it's due.

Go and have a look at the Wieffer thread, plenty on there saying the same as me.

Try watching the game properly next time.

Maybe they need a training session on how to welly the ball out or up field. Not good to watch if that is your only game plan but some times the simple thing is the best.

Woahh ! wind your neck in -no need to be rude .

From what you have said you thought exactly like me up to yesterday , we just took something different from his performance - that`s just opinion . And in mine it will take more than just one half in 15 games to make him "Good" .

If he plays well for the majority of his next 15 games, will you come back to this thread and agree that he was good in this game?

Rude? about as rude as calling me "easily pleased". Don't give it out if you can't take it.

Of course It's all opinions - but when there's an overwhelming majority of people on here having a similar opinion to me then you should probably reconsider yours.

That is too much positivity for the match i saw today , in fact it`s tough to agree with most of what you say .
Lamptey was very good again and his goal was quality , but he has only just started to show some form after a LOT of injuries and not a small hint of "sick note" , just in time for a contract extension .

Minteh is raw and very good , very very good when he is on form , but I`m sorry but Weiffer is a total loss at this level - pulls out of tackles , passing is poor , too slow to read the game - yada yada yada .

Hurzeler started great but it seems he is easy to read , RE: Wolves 2-0 with 5mins ends 2-2 , today was a carbon copy . Imho he is far too bloody restrictive , if he trusts the lads then let them decide when pissing about is not a good idea and play a ball to the wings or straight down the middle -anywhere but where it was at Fulham for the first or nearly on two occasions today .

As for lessons learnt , where is the proof that he has learnt anything , personally i think he looks at St Pauli one place off relegation and looks at our position and believes that justifies his tactics , massive error imo .

Bastard maybe , but i for one am definitely not entitled , but i am no ones mug either , the team/squad we have should not have drawn at home to Ipswich,Forest, and Wolves , and we shouldn`t have lost to Fulham , Chelsea (remember those tactics) or even Liverpool .

As for Hurzeler changing , he is German with a "Process" which means long term - this German is not for turning !.

So hope I`m wrong , and quickly .
So we shouldn't have drawn those matches OR lost to Chelsea, Fulham or even Liverpool?

You do realise that you are saying that we should win EVERY MATCH!!!! I'll have some of what you're smoking!

He knows things like this just always seems to happen to Brighton. Unfortunately, being bottlejobs is in our DNA. Things don't come easy for Brighton and Hove Albion. We lost many players offs from relatively strong positions. We lost the championship title when only a point would do with 3 games remaining. To this day, I'm still amazed we made it to Europe and topped the group! Rome just brought me back home.
Onwards and upwards, we move on until the next time. Man I bloody love this team!
A pedant says; we needed 2 points from the last 3 games to (probably) win the title on goal difference. We were 7 points ahead with 3 games left and we got a point in the last game when Stockdale let the equaliser through his legs in the 89th minute. We finished 1 point behind headchoppers FC

We definitely shouldn`t have thrown away a 2-0 lead at home to Wolves with 5 minutes left , we should have beaten Ipswich and Forest at home - don`t forget we played Forest early doors before they got their act together .

As for Chelsea we should have got a point , we gave 2 goals away with the defence on the halfway line , a dumb freekick and a penalty . They didn`t need to do much as we shot ourselves in the foot .

Fulham -even their own supporters called it a smash and grab , we dominated for the most part but as usual gave away two stupid goals . Liverpool we are 1-0 up at halftime and come out in the second half , half asleep and are 2-1 down in 3 minutes . Had we kept the same tempo we might well have come away with a point .

I met Sir Paul in Walkabout, I get 10 points for the trip.......a draw is a more than icing in the cake to a fun day in the East Midlands
Did you offend him and he deducted you 5 points :lolol:

Ipswich, Wolves Southampton and Leicester 2 points each was my simple calculation.

Just four of those points and the table looks so much better for us. 😔
Undeniably, we could and should have done better in most of these games but almost every football fan of every club in the division could draw up a list of games they feel they should have got more points from including, I’m sure, some against Brighton (ManU, Spurs, Newcastle come to mind). It doesn’t mean we shouldn’t constantly strive to narrow the gap between what we see as the deserved result and the actual result, but let’s also acknowledge that this maddening uncertainty is part of the football drug's appeal.

Chelsea could easily have been 6 or 7 up at HT. We weren’t close to getting anything.
