I'm not sure spending £200m suggests Tony Bloom expected instant results. I think it suggested he wanted to deepen the squad substantially to be competitive this season and, most importantly, for years to come as we'd lost a lot of key talent too quickly.

Have you looked at the profile of players we signed? 8 players of 24 and under. Minteh is 19. Gruda is 20. Some went straight out on loan.

The question makes no sense.
Buying young players means you are CLEARLY continuing our model of buying players with sell on potential.
If we were going heavy on players who are 26/27 then it would be different.

Changing rules for PSR meant we either invest that money Chelsea (and others) gave us in players or lose our ability to invest as heavily as we did over this summer.
