TEAM NEWS

Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has reported no fresh injury concerns following their 3-1 win against West Ham on Tuesday night.

Odsonne Edouard has returned to training but loanee Facundo Buonanotte is ineligible to face his parent club.

Brighton will make a late decision on forward Danny Welbeck, who missed Thursday's defeat by Fulham with a small issue.

Joel Veltman could return but Ferdi Kadioglu, Jack Hinshelwood, James Milner, Adam Webster and Solly March remain out.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

  • Leicester are without a victory in the past four Premier League meetings (D2, L2).
  • However, the Seagulls have won just once on their past 13 visits to Leicester in all competitions (D5, L7).
Leicester
  • Leicester are hoping to win consecutive top-flight home matches for the first time since May 2022.
  • Ruud van Nistelrooy could become just the third Leicester manager, after Claudio Ranieri and Craig Shakespeare, to win his first two Premier League games in charge of the club.
  • Van Nistelrooy is unbeaten in each of his last 21 matches as a manager across spells with PSV, Manchester United and Leicester.
  • The Foxes have scored in 13 of their 14 league games this campaign, the exception being a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United, who were managed by Van Nistelrooy.
  • Jamie Vardy has had 100 goal involvements in the Premier League at the King Power Stadium, scoring 73 and assisting 27.
Albion
  • Brighton's tally of 23 points is their highest after 14 top-flight matches of a season.
  • The Seagulls are aiming to win a fourth away league game, which would equal their total for the whole of 2023-24.
  • Albion have dropped points in 11 of their past 15 Premier League fixtures against promoted opposition (D7, L4).
  • Danny Welbeck is one short of equalling Pascal Gross as Brighton's 30-goal leading Premier League scorer.
  • Joao Pedro has been involved in seven goals in eight league appearances this season, scoring four and providing three assists.

Brighton will make a late decision on forward Danny Welbeck, who missed Thursday's defeat by Leicester with a small issue.

This is confusing to me. Welbeck is an Albion player and the Albion have not played Leicester recently. Also the last time the Albion were defeated was by Fulham and not Leicester.

My first away trip of the season, will be heading off shortly.
Not feeling overly confident, amazing what a couple of shit results can do for your mojo. Hoping for a masterclass in bouncebackability from the lads.

Fun fact: I used to work with Graham Scott's wife. I see he's on VAR duty today. We never discussed football and I never met him though.

Come to think of it, I'm sure there was a thread about this sort of thing a few weeks ago.

Expecting the team to put in a performance today after the last couple of games. Weather not going to help, but 3 points will make it worthwhile

Can’t balls up a third game in a row can we? Bart owes us a big game today and hopefully a better midfield selection from the boss, then I think a good day for us

Unfortunately won’t be able to make it to the Amex today, but I’ll be watching from bed to see the good guys romp home to a 3-1 victory, March and Milner with a double each for us, and a towering Buonanotte header for them against his former club.

Expecting a comfortable journey through to the next round, let’s hope the gaffer gets our lot to show some of that Italian flair.

Travel carefully everyone. Already seen one glum chap standing in the fast lane of the M23 alongside his car with the entire length of the passenger side gonna need a lot of work in the repair shop
