It’s been the norm in a lot of venues here for ages. Personally I’d extend it to gigs.

I’d extend to Football Stadiums, nothing worse than a football tourist or some you tube tube with 150 followers recording the entire match looking into the cam.

So glad smart phones weren't a thing in my teens and early 20s. I kind of wish they weren't a thing now.

Besides having every embarrassing moment immortalised on the internet, they're incredibly addictive. Probably the biggest source of anxiety, loneliness and depression today.

Would like to see a movement where smart phones are banned in all kinds of places, similar to the smoking ban.

Works well in Fabric, was at a club event last weekend in London as well at another venue that did it. Saw people being thrown out for using phones on the dance floor 👍

I went to an oldschool rave recently and they put stickers on the camera as you enter, didn't stop some from taking photos and videos but for the most part people were there to dance and enjoy the event. Age group was older than that of your average nightclub so possibly that helped too.

It works well at venues I’ve been to. Berghain ask you to leave if it’s a club night but I did see someone being given the option to delete the photos, witnessed by the bouncer, or be removed.

The only song I can think of that scans in this way is this one. Not 60s, though, 80s.

The upcoming tour by Ghost will have people using the Yondr pouches to secure phones so they cannot be used during the show.
I read this. I also read some strong criticism from some quarters. I’m personally in favour of it.

Think there needs to be a middle ground. People had cameras in the old days and want something to remember an event etc

At the same time it's so annoying seeing people live through their phone and not be 'present'.
