* Disclosure - this thread includes references to Gary Lineker and adulation for a former Brighton player. If either of these things cause you offence, leave this thread.

Listened to a fabulous 38 minute interview with Alexis on The Rest is Football pod today. It’s just him and Lineker and there is a lot covered including adapting to life in England, playing during COVID, DeZerbi, Potter and his thoughts on the Albion and our fan base.

Well worth a listen if, like me, you still love Alexis.

Gary seems surprised at the comment RDZ was the best coach he’s ever played under.
You would have thought he was tactically inept & flogged the players to death if you believed some of the comments on here.
I hold up my hand for talking second hand bollocks.

That makes two of us, innit.

🤣 I believe Mac said what we all thought Potter is a nice guy and didn’t seem at all surprised it didn’t work out at Chelsea.
Potter needs a nice club he got eaten alive at Chelsea. Somewhere like Fulham would suit him down to the ground.
I’m really surprised he turned down Ajax out of all the clubs that have approached him. He may regret that later in life.

I’m not. A huge club with a weighty history like United but with really poor recent recruitment. Would have had to move the family or effectively leave them. And Dutch people can be very direct and stubborn in the work place (I work with a few, they are great when you get to know them but we’ve had some moments).

Dutch guys can cause an argument in an empty room. They are painfully honest and blunt. I like them.

There's a great story ruud gullit tells about when he was made Dutch captain. He was a very young player and he asked the coach why he was chosen. He was told that the dressing room was split (as all Dutch teams are) although the national side was split down white and black players. The coach said as you are a mix of both they will either all love you or all hate you.
