But this is why VAR will never really work in football, it’s too subjective. You will never get consistency.Utter rubbish to suggest a ref or the var shouldn`t be relied on to be consistent , why have they got something else to do ?

Don't think VAR were involved, for a change ?
VAR should be used for one thing only: did the whole of the ball cross all of the line? This can be done with sensors (like Hawkeye in tennis). No reason why it can't be pretty much 100% accurate. But this is why VAR will never really work in football, it’s too subjective. You will never get consistency.
That’s not VAR, it’s separate tech fed directly to the ref (Hawkeye, in fact).VAR should be used for one thing only: did the whole of the ball cross all of the line? This can be done with sensors (like Hawkeye in tennis). No reason why it can't be pretty much 100% accurate.
Brilliant! That’s not VAR, it’s separate tech fed directly to the ref (Hawkeye, in fact).
Totally agree with you , my gripe is when a foul is so obvious that the var operator must either be not watching or heavily biased , either way he should be dragged out of the building by his pride (both of them) and never officiate in any capacity again .But this is why VAR will never really work in football, it’s too subjective. They do get incredibly boring and samey. It always amazes me the manager (Hurzeler,De Zerbi,Potter...no difference) always seems surprised to be asked about injured players and who's availableAnybody else never bother watching that EPL mandatory placatory BS?
