The record of MEPs was particularly interesting on BBC QT

UK MEPs appeared on the show 50 times over a period 2009-2019, but none were politicians from pro-EU parties.

In total, 45 Ukip and three Conservative MEPs featured. Infact the nicotine stained Trump fanboy appeared 22 times as a Ukip MEP, and once after switching to the Brexit Party.

When you consider the level of bias across the media its amazing the 2016 was such a slim win.

Expect a lot more Farage now his party has 0.8% of UK MPs. Its good measure of how common extreme xenophopia in the average UK constituency

Especially with Musk providing the funding. Having said that, since July, there have been 166 by-elections, with Reform winning just 5. They're hardly getting grass root support.

At the last election Reform demonstrated there are few places that will get the level of support for Reform to win. But it does seem the press are doing all possible to platform them now. The LD's seem largely to be ignored.

As things stand there is nothing to stop Twitter (X) UK donating as much money as they like to a political party, even if they are just a shell company with no profits.

More worrying is the potential for dark money flowing into influencers on Tiktok and who controls the algorithm there?

We all need to be awake to this shit

You noticed that too. Every other frequently appearing Question time guest (including many far less frequent than him) had managed to make those appearances as a result of serving over 30 years as a democratically elected member of the house of commons.

Whilst he's managed to appear 36 times even before he was elected to Westminster for the first time in 8 attempts, 6 months ago. Still, i'm sure there's an explanation

Interestingly, a long way behind, the next two non sitting MPs in appearance terms after Nigel's 36 appearances are those well known Spectator Columnists and GB News/Talk TV stalwarts Isabel Oakeshott and Julia Hartley-Brewer with 13 appearances each.

According to latest research Caroline Lucas has appeared 13 times between 2013 and 2024. In fact she's 4th in most time appearances.

Interesting article, and certainly supports the 'unbalanced non political' guests, but only covers the last 9 years. Lucas is nowhere near most appearances overall.

is this a case of he is the only representive for UKIP/Reform the party put forward? other than Tice, not sure they have anyone else who does TV. other parties have more sensible people willing and able to sit in front of cameras, while Farage has become the only face of that entire wing of politics.

James O'Brien's book shines an interesting light on this, ending with Brexit.

Labour are certainly up against it, which makes you wonder why they don't present themselves more effectively. As unfair as it is being held to a different standard than the Tories, you surely have to play your cards as they are played.
