Yup, my bet is currently outpacing my ISA’s growth over the same period.

It doesn’t seem to be based on anything more than vibes, and there’s nothing to suggest values won’t tank again in the future, but were I to cash out now, I’d have made about 40% over my initial stake.

I’m leaving where it is just as a way of keeping an eye on what’s happening in the market. From the short time I’ve been in, the market seems to be prone to short-ish bull runs, followed by extended periods in the doldrums. Which makes sense when you consider it’s entirely sentiment driven.

If anyone wants to learn anything about XRP.....

it does, not in the way you think. still with a hype train believing one token can do multiple conflicting roles, and the institutions have many other choices now. example, Blackrock is using Avalanche for their explorations into asset management on blockchain. looking forward to the Ripple stablecoin pump though, i'm betting on some large move this week.

I had a very small punt, just £1000, on XRP when it was mentioned here a few weeks back. Now up by 360% I see. Thanks to whoever suggested it. I’d buy you a pint or two if I knew who you were!

I realise no one knows the answer to this but is there an expectation or an instinct among the crypto enthusiasts here about what sort of period this bull run may extend to? And even vaguely if it’s likely to keep edging up for a while yet? What might be some of the downward triggers and signs that it’s fizzling out and time to book that nice holiday I hadn’t bargained for?

And I suppose the key question is whether there’s still serious money to be made with a bigger investment, or if that’s too risky a punt now. Again, I realise these are essentially questions without answers but just curious.

Thanks for any insight. I’m quite an experienced investor in stocks but haven’t done much crypto apart from a v nice but flukey German Bitcoin fund investment that gave me £50K for a couple of weeks ‘work’ a few years ago.

There are a few of us who have been mentioning XRP for some time.
As for when the "bull run" will extend too... no idea. My guess.... spring time ?.....Have your targets/values, stick to them and sell.
Don't try and time the top. You wont do it. And don't feel regret if the value doubles/triples or more from when you sell.

Alt coin season has not technically started yet. That only happens when Bitcoin is still rising but its dominance on the market drops big time.

I've been a fan for a while and have mentioned it a couple times on here along with some others. If it was my post, I'm happy to help anyone who'll listen.

I had zero crypto holdings 10 days ago and took up some xrp and hbar both performing incredibly well in the short term but very much in this for the long term.

Can anyone explain the significant jump on xrp in the last 24 hours?

Hype driving FOMO mostly. Inflows look like new money coming into the space, not existing assets being swapped.

EDIT:

Also appears that WisdomTree officially filed for its spot XRP ETF

There are reports of a low supply of XRP available on exchanges too which is driving up the price.

there's two broad theories to this. one is we run to some time period post halving that should be peak, which is end of 2025 (i have a marker for mid October for some reason i dont recall). the other is the market front runs that and overcooks, and combined with the old "go away in May" saying, things turn down in May/June 2025. that is sort of what happened in 2021, we went up too far too fast, got a double top lower peak than expected. it'll be different this time...

either way look to exit in 2025. the more interesting question at what price for Bitcoin. there's two targets (off fibonacci levels from the 2021 high to 2022 low), $155k and $210k. we hit either of those look at how market reacts and prepare for reversals there. the downward trigger wont be known until afterwards, probably something macro like interest rate rise, a new war, other major event. it'll be obvious a week later of course. between now and then we expect most majors to rise with Bitcoin in various multiples, more multiples for mid caps. it'll be a bit of lottery this time imo, there cant be that much liquidity around to raise every boat.

mm i would disagree slightly on this, XRP has been supressed for several years with Ripple court case, which they won.

For me with Donald winning, XRP is just catching up to where it should always have been.

FOMO has not kicked in yet IMO. Not a lot of new money in Crypto. the Old ATH for crypto market has only just been beaten.

Still a ton of room for growth.

Lots of positives still to come , Stablecoin anyday, Court case will be closed etc plus all the ETF etc will now get the nod.

Xrp is only up 50% today. Sheesh. Surely people will start taking some profits soon?

I wonder if those who frequent this thread and talk about magic beans actually put a few quid in or not.

Plus RLUSD bringing a load of liquidity into the XRP Ledger... Don't forget that.

XRP is very much 'my thing' and I'm not even thinking about it as a speculative asset in a bull-run. This token is going to be the one of the main underpinnings to the new financial system.

Two scenarios in my mind.

1) It does the bull-run, then comes down with everything else, then starts to get used as it was intended - and utility will drive the price.

2) It's 'catching up' to the price it should really be in a speculative market, then it'll join the main bull-run, then utility kicks in and it never goes back down again.

I have a good feeling it's going be No.2, but the big wheels of banking and finance turn slowly.

Either way, I've got a good amount of XRP, so I'll sell say 30% at £5 to £10 (laddering out) - then keep a big bag for when it's used for what it's designed for - and then we see the silly numbers.

Not financial advice, DYOR etc.

If XRP doesn't float your boat, look at XLM, HBAR, XDC and QNT. I hold some of that, too - and these will also be used in the new Blockchain financial system.

As for "when should I sell" - to someones previous post, you will never be able to time the top, or time the bottom. Set yourself a target, sell at that, and walk away. Don't look back... Be happy with what you made.
