much more west than Littlehampton and its impossible to get home
Chichester is as far as you can get, but surely if you live that far away you must be aware that surely you can’t get to some games by trains? Get a car, while I get the trains have been really monumentally shit recently, I don’t buy all this, it’s so bad I’m putting it on the exchange stuff. If you don’t want to go, just say you don’t want to go, I’m getting up at 4 after this game to fly to Barcelona at 6am. Theres always a way to get there. I’ve done northern away days on a Tuesday, there and back and found a way, walked through snow to get to games, travelled to more or less most away games from Huddersfield for two seasons, we had almost 2 seasons of train strikes, for home and away games still got there, got to home and away games only to see it called off en route, HELL I was even 2mm off DEATH and still dragged myself to the game. I just sometimes feel the excuse is a lot easier than just finding a way there.

A super fan eh? We love super fans on Nsc. :lolol:

I may go or I may not go depending on my health, which isn't good nowadays, not that it's any of your business. ;)
Yeah but if your health is poor that’s a completely valid reason for yourself mainly, I do really hope you feel better soon. But some of this, the trains are shit, so I won’t bother stuff is completely different, just don’t get it, it’s an absolute pain getting up to the stadium on a weekday, but we all put ourselves through it.

There was a time when I did similar, apart from the close to death thing, but I think it's important to remember a lot of supporters on here are a lot older than yourself and may have differing commitments. I think the thresholds will vary wildly among folks in NSC.

But the thing the that pisses people off, including me, is that the problems are avoidable if someone gave a shit. Spending hours waiting just winds me up when I know it's ferkin avoidable with the slightest bit of foresight.

I actually bought a motorbike about 6 years ago and one of the main reasons was to get to the games. I go on my bike in pretty much all weathers unless it's torrential and then it's P&R which is far better than the trains.

Someone absolutely gives a shit and spends hours trying to find a solution, but there are many factors out of people’s controls. With all respect, if your amazing foresight can solve it, have a go. Nothing personally pisses me off more than the fact that someone won’t go to the game because of the trains, I want everyone possible in the stadium to support this club, and I’ll do everything within my power to get them there, nothing makes me feel more like I’m useless than that. I get the service is crap during the week, but the say no one gives a shit is just plain wrong. I support this club, my friends support this club, my family supports this club.👍

I don’t disagree, but let’s stop blaming it on the trains and say that.

Apart from some of his crashing cover drives, that's an utterly Sunday village 46 from Ben Duckett there.

You mean on a Saturday afternoon at 5pm, with months of advanced notice, it cannot be organised to have a train with more than 3 or 4 carriages to get fans home? I could not do it but then again I'm sure that whoever's job it is couldn't do my job.

After years of piss poor organising, how can anyone claim to actually care enough to do something about it?

I went to the Brentford game Boxing Day 7:30pm (?) a couple of seasons ago, so I only ever miss home games under extreme circumstances.

On a Saturday afternoon there are trains with more than 3 or 4 Carriages every 10 minutes. I accept the service isn’t very good a lot of the time, but to suggest people don’t give a shit is just plain unfair. What’s your job I’ll give it a go, but I won’t suggest you don’t give a shit.

EDIT: Do you know I wish people would stop tagging me in these threads, to give them answers about trains, I genuinely just try to help, to just be told I don’t give I shit, or I don’t care, or something like that, always descended to the same accounts knowing it all, and why it’s so simple etc. If you really want to say that you can find me after working 5 days in a week, you can tell me to my face how I don’t care, or I don’t give a shit, etc. I can take it like a big boy. You found a solution use your motorbike, use that to get to games instead of putting people down.

Thank you, but I won’t ever get better. I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me, but it also goes to show that unless we know each poster’s circumstances, we have no right to throw ‘hand grenades’ into the thread. The wind up merchant knew exactly what it was doing.
Forget local trains, our season ticket holders come from places like Wiltshire, Cheshire, Hants, Bristol, North Wales, etc

Was about to write something similar. Nowadays, if I have any energy after work it is a massive blessing. Jack's post made me want to go for a little lie down!

The dull part of the south coast
If you want to go - you go! I live in Southampton and when ever possible will catch the train to Brighton. For Saturday 3.00pm kick offs it’s a breeze. A direct service there and back. Now if there’s engineering works which mean the horrors of bus replacement I do the ‘up and down’ - Southampton up to Clapham Junction then down to Brighton and the reverse coming home. This also works for evening games as there are later connections from Brighton to CJ.

If push comes to shove I’ll drive to Havant or Chichester and get the train from there.. I don’t particularly like driving at night these days but at least to/from Southampton it’s a straight run on the M27 and A27 dual carriageway to get to Havant and Chi. I don’t then have to deal with the motoring mayhem of Arundel, Worthing and Sompting.

For tonight’s game against Saints I’m fortunate in that a good mate of mine is driving four of us there and back. The point I’m trying to make is sometimes you have to do the hard yards in following the Albion. Disruption is the football fan’s constant shadow - overcome that and everything is peachy, especially when we win.

What’s your job I’ll give it a go, but I won’t suggest you don’t give a shit.

I will give you a choice. You can PM me the pictures.

1. I'm a qualified Electrician. So a simple house rewire will do.

3. I replace uPVC gutters, fascias and soffits on houses (off ladders). Again a before and after photos will do. Have done jobs for several on here that probably could vouch for me.

Good luck.

(No idea what you do ofc)

Yeah I respect that, I couldn't do it, much like I doubt lots of the people who say its as simple as making sure the train isn't 3 or 4 carriages could do a fully working train plan, without knowing all the constraints. I don't want to give away too much, but those who know me on here know my job, which is in the railways, to suggest I don't give a shit when there are scenes like the Liverpool game is insulting tome slightly, its a job which can cause a lot of stress, and really affect your mental health, people absolutely give a shit.

I could see you being an electrician in another life - take him up on it and give it an unqualified go, what's the worse that could happen
