It is entirely unjust that the rather naff Gladiator 2 has a thread and Wicked hasn’t…

5* from me, superb movie with excellent performances but Ariana Grande steals the show. Biggest non-Disney musical box office opening ever.

8.2 IMDB, 90% Rotten Tomatoes. Loved by audiences and critics alike.

Far, far superior to the now very tired, technically past-it, neglected and consistently poorly cast West End production.

Is this film/story on a simialr scale?
Well it’s set within a pretty huge universe, yes. There are four Wicked books, plus two spin off book series comprising four books so far. Then the 14 books in The Wizard of Oz series. Plus the fact that the stage version has been by 70 million people worldwide, and grossed over £5.5bn in ticket sales.

I’d say it’s a good deal more “epic” in “scale” than The Godfather Trilogy, albeit dealing with completely different themes and for a different market.

Because you haven’t seen it, you know nothing about it whatsoever apart from conclusions you have wrongly made from seeing the movie poster. What on earth were you thinking with your reply? Serious question.

I shall watch it when it hits Sky.

I'd go to the cinema but after hearing reports of audiences singing along I'll not be chancing it.
Yeah this was a big concern for me, especially with idiots like The Rock who is in Moana 2 saying singing along is great and everyone can do what they want. I picked a midday afternoon in term time I had off work and it was an immaculate audience, but bad audiences put me off cinema generally especially evenings and weekends.
