Just far enough away from LDC
Waitrose at canary wharf didn't have any yesterday (I looked as was unable to get any of this weeks tesco delivery)

However I did get some from a Tesco express near Brick Lane last night. Napolina at 1.50 per tube.

And here is the story (also in mirror and other sites)

I love that one of the sources in that article is Tomato news, exactly the sort of publication I'd expect to see on HIGNFY

The tomato puree shelf, immediately above the passata and tinned tomatoes shelves in my Tesco, has been empty on every visit I've made for weeks.

Even the more expensive Napolina tubes have been nowhere to be seen.

I shall check out alternative grocery vendors.
I had to go to Asda where they had plenty, guess Tesco are just struggling with their suppliers

This is no laughing matter. I’m going to passata time like this
I hope it hasn't caused any beef with the suppliers. That would be the cherry on the icing on the cake!

I predict a shortage of fruit pies and fruit pie fillings - it’s already happening in the wholesale market. Dark Cherry, Blackberry and Apple, Raspberry and Apple

Brighton. NOT KEMPTOWN!
Due to Bozza's post, I panic-bought a tube of tomato puree from Asda (Marina), this morning. Tons there. However, without wishing to hi-jack this thread, there's been no brown Tilda Basmati Rice there for months now.
I would have included a pun, but thought that would have been a bit fusilli.

I've struggled to find Brown Basmati for a while now. Luckily i'm developing a taste for the white stuff.

Went particularly well with the chicken thighs, plums, chillis, ginger and garlic tonight

The exodus of migrant farm workers from the fields in California due to the foreseen deportation of immigrants by the Trump administration will affect the tomato harvesting but that has not had an effect on the tomato products on the shelves yet.

I'm probably being facetious.

No worries, they'll just get Chinese forced labour to fill the gaps.
