Super goal. One we've seen he's well capable of repeating. I just wish he'd occasionally take the sensible option and play the pass more often (like he did vs. Crawley). You'd never want him to lose that element of his game though, because so few of our players have a crack from range and it's a real skill.

Goals like that are amazing to see

After being reduced to 10 men to boot

Yes, but let's gloss over the fact that another of our players got sent off 7 minutes before that happened.

Paraguay weren't actually reduced to 10 men. Diego Gomez was shown a red card for an altercation on the bench with Bolivian substitute Adalid Terrazas in the 83rd min (Terrazas also saw red for the incident). Gomez was subbed off in the 65th min.

Did the Bolivian staff/subs actually kick another ball onto the pitch to get the game stopped during a Paraguay attack? If so, they are cheating ****s! Brilliant that Enciso made them pay.

Thank goodness the ref didn’t stop the game.

My son (Enciso is his favourite player) did comment that he had too many celebrations though. I think he reeled about 5 different ones off!

Exactly this, his enthusiasm just needs focusing. Julio is a terrific player.
Love he's enthusiasm on the pitch. He plays like nobody has ever told him not to do certain things. Like a coach would probably say he should have passed the ball to somebody else rather than take a chance on scoring a worldie.

But Julio doesn't do that. He thinks he can score from there and he's going to take the shot God dammit. And he's not wrong.

It certainly looked like it came from the direction of the technical area in the video clip of the goal.

Want him to come good however the problem with these infrequent screamers is it installs the belief he can do it every time, which is an area of developmental focus (decision making)

Saying that I saw he had another mazey run and actually squared it to a colleague who f***ed it up, so in the other hand, you can’t blame him!

He scores so infrequently he needs to roll them all out when he does!

I've not seen anyone not 'getting behind him' the big issue for him is going to be lack of minutes. He's currently behind Pedro and Rutter, and on form/impact rightly so. It doesn't mean he's not good enough just that he's going to get very limited chances to show it unless we get an injury (which we all hope doesn't happen).

Selfishly I want him to stay because the chances of us not getting an injury to one of those two is slim IMO. For Enciso it would probably be best to go on loan.

A loan with a recall option would be best, if that is possible anymore?

No it isn't, only in the transfer windows.

90th minute. What did he do for the other 89 minutes. Nah, don't buy him.
For 45 of them he sat on the bench. If he manages one goal every 45 minutes for us over the rest of the season, I'd put up with it.

Am I right in thinking that Gomez was sent off after he was substituted? Anyone know the context? Was he kicking off about the penalty?
