I went to a friend's 60th birthday party at Hove rugby club last year or the year before. The host's wife invited an old university friend of hers who was Scottish and had written some very famous books about a character called H Potter.
If you ask them how old they are now, and work it back, it will confirm whether their 60th was last year or the year before. Just trying to help.

Yes, several.

Also, there are cases where the person I know who knows someone famous are famous thenselves.

And two (other) cases where the person I know who knows someone famous are both famous themselves and married to the famous person.

I’m sorry, what was the question again?

I'm distantly related to Parks & Rec actress Rashida Jones and therefore her mother, the late Twin Peaks actress Peggy Lipton. One of my brothers found the connection via the US version of Who Do You Think You Are that Rashida appeared on. We share the same great-great-grandfather or summat. There's a whole Jewish Latvian back story apparently. Rashida's dad is of course Quincy Jones. I didn't receive an invite to his funeral the other week.

A few years ago I jumped into a mate’s car to travel to anAlbion away match. I’d never met one of my fellow travelling supporters before and when we stopped at a service station he bought a movie magazine and I asked if he had a particular interest in movies. “Yes, I’m an actor” he said. Then I realised it was Ralph Brown - lovely guy.

My better half got bullied mercilessly at school by a kid who went on to become an England rugby international.

We now live a couple of doors along from his brother and family.

We get on fine with all the family but the rugby player never gets mentioned by them or us.

My daughter and then boyfriend went to a party at one of his best friends, and ended up staying over. Following morning they were greeted by David Gilmour cooking himself scrambled eggs in his dressing gown. She’d never heard of him.

Bloody rock stars. Why couldn't he use a frying pan like a normal person?

He was the prison governor in the film Mean Machine, had an Albion crest on his office wall.
Also wore an Albion shirt in Up and Under.

I have a friend who’s brother is a very famous Hollywood heartthrob, she also shared a flat with Todd Boehly’s wife when they were at uni.

My sister is a teacher at a school in Angmering and puts together all the course work for the young Academy players at Lancing.
Toby Collyer was also in her class at School, I did ask why he decided to sign for that mid table club up North 🤣

I used to drink a lot with Tom Hardy's cousin, who was also a good looking bugger if not as good a looking bugger as his famous cousin.
I also shagged one of Liz Hurleys cousins, alas in that case she had absolutely none of the family looks and I hid away for several days in a friends room afterwards during which I went from novice to champion at Mortal Kombat.
