Should they be banned?

Irrelevance.

They already are. They are a pit bull breed and should not be owned by anyone.

At the very least they should have a muzzling order on them.

I have no idea why anyone other than a criminal moron would want to own such an ugly, dangerous, monster. Let alone have it in the house.

I’d like to see the breed wiped out.

What say you?

I remember the outcry in places like Sheffield, Derby and, yes, Hastings when Major tried to bring in a dangerous dogs act (I think it was Major).

Interfering with peoples' freedoms.

"Wouldn't hurt a fly".

Etc.

I'd like to see the same sort of pile-on we saw over the chav rioters a while ago.

Let it be assumed that when a dog of any sort attacks then it is a criminal case with a custodial sentence.

That may focus a few (what passes for) minds.
minds? you can’t possibly focus what they don’t possess.

Today's quiz challenge. The neighbors XL Bully had to be put down due to ill health. However not wanting their chihuahua ( I'm not kidding) to get lonely they've just bought a new puppy. Would you like to guess what breed? :ffsparr:

The curious thing is that they are ostensibly a sensible pleasant young couple with young kids.

It's been illegal to breed or rehome XLs for nearly a year. Is it possible your neighbours have a Ambull, mastiff, sbt or any combination thereof?

Something little discussed amongst the proponents of forced euthanasia is how tricky it is to identify a breed that hardly truly exists. Breed specific legislation in the UK is pretty poor, nothing to do with breeding or genetics, but 'type'. An approx set of measurements and look. What even is an XL Bully, the law certainly doesn't know.

Sorry you've totally misunderstood. Of course the new dog is not a bully. They've bought a Rottweiler

It's very simple, have a list of approved breeds, but way too complicated for politicians
