Despite the best efforts of the Russian central bank, the ruble is now worth less than one cent.
Now it's crossed that threshold they may not get back to it for quite a while. I wonder what the next 'support' level target will be.. 0.8 of a cent? 🤔.
Russia needs to start comparing the ruble to their future Brics currency 💵 😉

What are they doing there, is that not our waters or Irish ?
is it a submarine they are monitoring ?
I'll answer those questions as best i can.

What are they doing there? They're up to no good.

The waters assuming the red lines, are partly in international waters, and partly in UK waters.

Is it a submarine they are monitoring? The article says they are loitering above underwater infrastructure.

Russia would be better off trying to save its economy rather than waste scarce money paying propagandists to issue threats to the whole world.

They really have a screw loose & anyone who believes this crap should be locked up as a danger to themselves.

Brighton factually.....
Just in international waters...and they will be checking our preparedness to stop them severing an underwater communications link (or similar).
They seem emboldened now Trump is in power, I would bet good money Trump would turn his back on us, if Russia tested us.

I think they are testing the waters in many different directions, trying to provoke reactions.
I don't think Trump would turn his back on us...but that remains to be seen, for sure.

Interesting content if you make the time. The speaker is an American writer who has lived in Ukraine throughout the war. Key takes that I remember:
- Western media was wrong to say that Ukrainians must be very upset at Trump's victory. On the contrary they believe they will now get clarity on support or not (rather than the Biden/Sullivan administration drip drip)
- There are many more serious sanctions that can be made on Russia if the west wants to get more serious
- Lack of clarity from the US on Ukraine spending
- Russian propaganda methods
......

That's an interesting one. I would interpret that as reality leading the way for the newspapers, in that the press must in part reflect the unavoidable bits of the real world, and report the same things that readers experience in their day-to-day lives, otherwise people will stop reading them, and they will no longer be a useful propaganda tool to shape the opinions of the masses.

You cannot avoid seeing the 22%+ inflation in your food bills, so if you see articles on inflation, rather than article denying inflation, you will still read the papers and the government still has a chance to convince readers it is not the government's fault. We could begin to see inflation being blamed on external factors.

The litmus test of a free press though, may be to see if they report the true numbers of casualties on the battlefield. I assume that is still a long way off.
I’ve only just realised that Rosenberg does a daily summary of the Russian newspapers. It’s short and concise and can be accessed on YouTube
