35p was Under 16 price.I Can’t remember but was the same year so guessing the same

Free at Shoreham FC as like most kids we crawled under the canvas sheets which surrounded the pitch in Buckingham Park.
My first trip to the Goldstone cost 9 old pence in 1953 in the East Enclosure, hence my forum name.
BTW adults in that part of the ground were charged one shilling and nine pence.

First game was in the west stand for England u21 Ward hatrick game. No idea how much it cost.

First game at the Goldstone was v Blackburn Rovers in March 1975. My friend's Dad paid. I think it was about 30p

Nothing, as my father took me to my first game in 1966 and haven't a clue what it cost then in the North West Stand.
I do however remember the combined smell of the hot dog stand and toilet behind us - kind of gross and nice at the same time - weird...!!!

£3 in the North stand, circa approx 1993. Went up to £3.50 at the end of the 93/94 season i believe. I used to bunk the train, nick two cans of Fosters from my Dad, buy a programme for a quid, and do the whole day out for a fiver

Nothing again. My Dad drove the special bus and sent me in free with his conductor (in 1959)

My first season ticket was £42 for the North Stand for the 1987-88 season. £42 very well spent!!

The good thing about season tickets back then was it was the same price to stand anywhere in the ground and you chop and change stands between matches

30p from what I recall. Kit Napier was playing and he left in 1972, and so was Ken Beamish and he joined in 1972 which means it must have been 1972.
For some reason I've always remembered that at my first match Ken Beamish was wearing a signet ring. I only know this because we were stood directly behind the dugout box and Beamish rested his hand on top of it while he adjusted his boots on the sidelines, so his hand was only about 2 feet away from me. The vivid memory of Beamish's signet ringed finger has remained with me for over 50 years and is almost the only thing I remember about the first match I attended. I don't even remember who we were playing.

I paid 50p in 1978.
A memory that stood out from an era when the police treated us all as criminals and were really game for a nicking or even a fight, we were only 10/11/12 years old and there was a small mob of us being lairy, One of the lads, clearly of that age lit up a fag, Copper grabs him, pulls him out the line and shouts “If you’re old enough to smoke, you’re old enough to pay a quid!” marching him right to the front of the adult queue and forcing his last pound out of him.
