Pit bulls ARE already banned in the UK.

That's really sad (not what you've said) but that the parent has got a dog without even considering the physical danger to her own kids. Also sad that her kid is going to not have the opportunity to have friends round because of it. There's no excuse for getting one of these dogs that are probably more expensive than a Cockerpoo, German Shepherd or Labrador.
The daughter knows she is welcome round ours.
You'll be surprised about how much of an impact you welcoming her into your home will have on her. One thing my mum always said to me if she thought I was hanging out with 'wrong un's' was "don't go down to their level, drag them up to yours" rather than 'banning' me from seeing them. We weren't posh but I was allowed a glass of Liebfraumilch on special occasions!
Everyone's parents at the time used to just 'ban' people from seeing each other. I've (sort of) said the same to my kids. It's easier to keep an eye on things if friendships aren't 'banned'. I think my mum used to say it in a way that she knew I wasn't sweet & innocent but there was a trust that I wouldn't start jacking up like Sammo Mcquire & I'd 'Just Say No', unless it was alcohol, fags or a joint.
Pit bulls or XL bullies - same answer; exterminate. They serve no legitimate purpose and are a danger to the community. "It's not the dogs, it's the owners", some will say. Yes - so just look at the people who own one!
Any chance we could stop this mother further adding to the gene pool?
