Two police men were walking a youngish looking lad back up the concourse away from the station after the match. He looked pretty spooked and Ill. Thought he may have been spooked and feeling crushed.Post-match Lewes bound no clicker counting and no restriction on numbers on platform. I mentioned this to two police officers on the platform and they said its up to railway staff. Is it? You watch people pile on on dangerous over-crowding and do nothing.
I saw that too. But I assume he’d lost his parents? Not sure how old he was mind, maybe just looked younger than he wasTwo police men were walking a youngish looking lad back up the concourse away from the station after the match. Possibly. His face was completely white though and he had the policeman's jacket on.I saw that too. But I assume he’d lost his parents? Not sure how old he was mind, maybe just looked younger than he was
I fear this too. Some underground stations have barriers at the end of the platform. Doors open in line with tube doors. This must be possible at Falmer. Cost? It could save a life. Who pays? I argue the club have a moral responsibility here arguing for the stadium at Amex and train set-up. Perhaps it could be sponsered?Just a matter of time till there’s a serious accident at falmer station
Would be hugely helpful to have that option for midweek and Sunday games in particularThey should have a shuttle bus option like Liverpool operate even if it’s an additional paid for service to make it viable.
GTR seem to think that the Liverpool cup tie was the only issue. It may be straw that broke the camel's back but it is an awful experience every midweek and most weekends. That's the reason I pay significantly for the seagull travel busThere should be a full on review with all stakeholders so good to see the issue being raised by MPs with the club. Weekends tend to be better for obvious reason of more staggered travel times and more/longer trains. But queue management at Falmer and Brighton needs looking at as an accident waiting to happen.
As I keep banging on about, the club needs to set up a third and even a forth P&R option, work with partners on shuttle bus options, manage the queues better at Falmer and lobby Govia to seek better evening train options.
Tube trains are always a standard length, wouldn't work with the variety of train options we get at Falmer. Having someone using the clicker to count people on the platform usually works well enough.I fear this too. Some underground stations have barriers at the end of the platform.
