[Help] Learning the Knowledge for Private Hire Taxi's

I am helping my fella prepare for the knowledge test towards private hire taxi work in the Adur area. I'm sure there are a few Albion fans who have been through the knowledge test, and would appreciate any pointers and advice on what to study for the roads part. We are learning all the main points of interest, but do we really need to know every little road or is it main junctions that the questions will be on. Thanks in advance

I can’t help with Adur, I’ve done Brighton & Hove & Lewes so would be happy to answer any Private Hire questions

For the Brighton one you have to know all the roads, plus the other roads at each end. Well that was the case 10 years ago. Make up some flash cards.
As an aside, a study showed that London Cab drivers have a larger hippocampus than your average person (you've not been charged for that useless bit of information).

Not sure how some of the taxi drivers I've had passed the test, they seemed to rely on Google maps to know where to go even getting me to spell the street name as they typed it in

I have a question… how do you get from Brunswick Street West to Oxford Street in under 60 minutes?

I know it used to be possible for everyone back in the day, I just wonder whether it is still possible and how a professional would go about that now.

Went from Farm Road today (which is sort of near) went along Montpelier Place, left at the shiny new traffic lights as if you were posh and were going to Waitrose, up to the Dials, down New England Rd, over Preston Circus to Viaduct Road turn right. This doesn't completely miss the roadworks that are literally everywhere but shouldn't take more than 20 mins. The journey was done at 10.30am though.

If they'd asked the same question yesterday, I wouldn't have had a clue! Even though I've done the same journey 2x a week for months!! :lolol:

I'm f**king useless at giving directions someone pulled up & asked me how to get to Florence Road once when I was in Springfield Road, I sent them all around the one way system at Preston Park and then realised after I should've just told them to turn right!
