The dull part of the south coast
Solly ain’t coming back is he?
Please, don’t say that. Under RDZ Solly was an absolute revelation. I was at that Man City game and at the time I thought March’s injury was a minor one - how I got that wrong. The good thing is he’s back in training and hopefully, very hopefully, he’ll be knocking at the door for selection. Fingers crossed.

It’s not unusual for a player (like Solly) coming back from a serious injury to get a less serious/minor niggle, sometimes in a seemingly unrelated part of the body. The body can only be fully tested in a match environment.

This is what I’m hoping anyway.

Great news about Joao Pedro and O'Riley.

Hope Baleba is fit. Without Rodri and playing a declining Gundogan, City are lightweight in midfield and with Baleba, O'Riley, Wieffer, Rutter and Hinshelwood all potentially available to play in there, we have physicality as well as skill in abundance and could overpower them there.

Congrats to O'Reilly and the medical team to get him back relatively quickly. I genuinely thought we may not see him until the new year let alone early to mid November.

The squad for City looks like

Verbruggen/Steele
Veltman, Lamptey, JPVH, Igor, Estupinan, Kadioglu
Hinshelwood, Ayari, Baleba, O Riley, Wieffer
Mitoma, Gruda, Adingra
Enciso, Pedro, Georginho
Welbeck, Ferguson

and thats 21. so one would have to miss out.

And no room for Moder, Dunk, Minteh if they are fit/recover in time.

Webster, Milner,March also long term absentees.

Reckon we’ll play;
Verbruggen
Kadioglu, Veltman, JP VH, Dunk ( or Igor if Dunk not fit) Pervis
Baleba and Hinshelwood as the midfield pairing. Georginio, Welbeck and Mioma

Play a back five when we don’t have the ball ( like Sporting on Tuesday), and look to break on them.
Subs; Joao Pedro to come on for Georginio, Adingra for Mitoma. O’Riley for Hinsh.
