A swing from 5-0 Biden in 2020. Harris is doomed!
I read that too, but you could argue that both ways, i also read that of those 5 voters in 2020 2 elderly have since died and 3 new people moved in since 2020.

Also they were 6-0 in support of Haley in primary, so other twist is that's also a Haley supporter second preference split 50/50.

Interesting, but don't think anything yet can be read into it definitively!

I hope Trump wins. He will out Russia/Ukraine rather than escalating things which is in all our interests. No coincidence that this didn't happen under his watch.
You're mad. He will abandon Ukraine to the Russians, and give Bibi cart blanche to kill who he wants in the middle east.

Plus he's a vile piece of misogynist lying shit.

You voted for Farage in the summer did you not?

Strange man.

Yer its nonsense. It's discussed further back in this thread but military experts have already predicted trump wants an end to the war.

We answered this silly point of yours and you've ignored it. A Trump end to war is simply giving Ukraine to Russia. That's no more an end than when France surrendered to Germany.

Also why did Putin wait until trump was out of office to invade Ukraine !!

He didn't wait for Trump. If he was waiting he could have invaded in 21. He invaded when he was ready.

What I find more worrying is that this comment you are responding to was made less than 6 after posts after responses to a similar point made only on the page before.

The Republicans are entering election day with a historic lead in a majority of states, figures show.

This is the first time that registered Republicans have outvoted registered Democrats in more states since at least 2008, with early voting traditionally favoured by Democrats.

Across two-thirds of states that produce early voting data by party, registered Republicans outperformed the Democrats in votes cast.

Don't know if meaningful but interesting.

Trump could stop sending weapons to Ukraine, Putin could consolidate the land he has and prepare to take the rest. China could take that as an invitation to take Taiwan. That's the start.
was expecting something more concreate, that's rather vague speculation. US could continue subbing the arms industry as is very popular, sending arms to Ukraine. Putin could be stuck in stalemate for years, China could continue decades of sabre rattling at Taiwan knowing it's not good for trade to invade. the people around Trump are supposedly isolationist or at least US interests first, not interested in pro-Russia, pro-Putin policy, more likely seeing them still as the old enemy of the US. likewise China is seen as a threat, not a nation to give into.

Nonsense, I think we should extrapolate the whole election based on the votes of 6 elderly folks living in a ski resort near Canada!

It could be meaningful. What will be key is how

A) independents split
B) do Republicans vote trump (can assume they do)
C) given Republicans were told by trump last two times not to vote by mail. This time they were told by trump to use mail in votes. Does it mean a deflated Democrat turnout or just more Republicans voting early?

I'm a bit of a politics geek, always stay up for our general elections and generally the US ones too. I won't be watching any of this because I've come to the depressing belief that today's election will not be about watching democracy in action.

The fact that the Republicans chose a candidate who showed last time around that he would not accept the result, and that the events of January 6th 2021 did not scare them back from the brink suggests to me that further bloodshed is extremely likely to follow these results.

If Trump wins he has been clear on his plans for immigrants and the threat to women's health is obvious. If Trump loses, every effort will be made to change the result through state officials, congress and a supreme court that has shown itself repeatedly willing to put members' partisan beliefs above the rule of law. If attempts are unsuccessful, the judiciary will probably play the role of Mike Pence. There will be corruption, illegality, threats of violence and eventually, actual violence.

We're in the death throes of democratic capitalism. The latter has weakened the former to such an extent that it's become obvious that no election is going to halt the decline. It's the irrationality and abandonment of enlightenment values that is so terrifying. We are living through an age that history will see as an inexplicable return to the dark ages. A worldwide psychosis that seems to have been created by technology offering communication at a level that humankind did not have the wherewithall to control.

I'm out. I'll watch the Bake-off and go to bed with a book. I'd advise everyone to do similar. The fall out won't be tonight or tomorrow. It will go on for weeks at least.
