I use the RP diet app to control my weight . Bulking and cutting cycles as like weight training dropped close to 30 kg in 3 years and got to my lowest weight of 83 kg couple months ago while not losing strength . Best thing ive ever done . Have to weigh everything though

What is the RP diet please?

Right I’m in. Bit late but needs must. Weighed in last night after reading this thread. I’m XXst 11lb

I don't know if you're trying to hide your weight, but most of us know Roman numerals.

Good luck though.

Thanks. I don't have much honey though and it's not bad for you. I certainly wouldn't expect it to be a sugar spike.

I could try that. I do like it as it is though.

If I run out of raspberries or yoghurt I'll sometimes have muesli, but porridge is better for me for weight loss.
Honey and grapes are the two biggest sugar spikes - diabetic nurse told me to avoid

Nice.

You could try nut butter rather than honey to keep the sugar spike down and up the protein. And mixed seeds sprinkled on the top will add some amazing texture and vitamins.

Porridge season is slow to start for me this year because it's been so warm, but I love it to kick off the day.
Initially thought this was a recommendation to get him down to the hob quicker

Todays reading is 12st 3lbs so no change from the start. Even though I have my scales in the same place my weight seems to be oscillating between 12st 0lbs and 12st 3lbs. I have started cutting down on snacks though so hopefully weight will start to come down

For those who count calories what do you do about things like home cooked meals?

With ready meals they tell you exactly the calories but we had spaghetti bolognaise and it’s hard to know how many calories per portion

Eato App
You can take a photo of you meal or enter it manually it tells you the calories per item if you enter approx weights I’ve found it pretty useful but haven’t used it for a while hence my participation in NSCs version of slimming world

heres some important tips I've learnt

track everything, get a food scale

its boring but eat the same meals every day. i eat 4 meals a day meal 1 ,2 4 are exactly the same. meal 3 dinner is rotated around 4 or 5 different meals so I don't drive the wife mad.

weight train and get 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight - if you don't some of your weight loss on the scale will be muscle.

Dont go mad on cardio it can make you hungry. just walk. get a step tracker and start at 9000 steps a day . i got a walking pad for when the weather is bad. when the diet gets hard you start to subconsciously move less. keeping up steps counteracts this. weight training much better for weightloss.

Don't diet for more than 12 weeks. your metabolism slows down and you plateau leading to less and less calories and you feeling miserable. after 12 weeks eat at maintenance levels to have a break then repeat. maintenance should be at least 2/3 the time of the diet.

don't completely cut healthy fats out of your diet. you need fat for hormone production. I found this out the hard way i dieted for 15 weeks and my mood, gym performance and libido fell off a cliff.

Doing that for 3 years with the help of the app I use with plenty of times for holiday and a bit of cheating here and there got me a 6 pack for the first time in my life at 52.

Oh. How much is ok I wonder?
My partner, a carer in nursing homes for over 30+ years tells me that 6 (six) grapes was the maximum they could give anyone diabetic at any one time. (I can easily eat a week's supply in one sitting at that rate :()

pan roasted venison striploin rubbed in sumac, Italian salsa verdi, and rice. Love venison. A lovely lean meat perfect for diets. (The meat looks well done but it’s not. It was a little too rare, so each slice got a few seconds more on each side back in the pan)
