The boy and I like to add to the atmosphere at away matches by singing, cheering, encouraging etc so support most comments on this thread but the end of the day, it’s a football match and people when purchasing a ticket are under no obligation to do anything, they could sit with a pair of headphones and a blindfold on if they so desire and if they are not in breach of the law or any ground regulations sod all can/will be ever done about.

I’m a keen gig goer and believe bands deserve our respect, the phones are one thing but more and more now constant talking drowns out
quieter or new or little known tracks, again apart
from telling them individually to shut the f*** up there’s little that can be done (although I have witnessed artists stop singing and comment something along the lines of “sorry am I disturbing your conversation?”

This really gets on my nerves at gigs. I've lost count of the times I've seen Weller (50+ at a rough guess) ... but at most Weller gigs I've been to, I've found myself stood with people behind me that just want to hear old The Jam songs and they end up chatting about any old sh*t when some of the newer or more acoustic stuff is being played. The gig I went to a couple of weeks ago was so refreshingly different. No chat whatsoever and very little in the way of blokes trying to fight there way through a gap that isn't really there ... holding (spilling) plastic pints of crap beer everywhere.

But like you, I go to enjoy the game and sing and encourage. I don't get distracted by what others are doing - unless they're being complete arseholes.

Oh ... and back to talking at gigs. I've just remembered a great little gig (Ed Harcourt) I went to at Komedia in Brighton many years ago. We were all sat at little tables around the stage ... very intimate setting. Two lads, very near the stage, just didn't stop chatting (one in particular). So Ed Harcourt stopped half way through a song and asked the bloke to get up on stage to tell everyone what was so damn important that it couldn't wait until after. Ed had a right go at him with some interesting language (lots of applause from the rest of us). Needless to say, the chap didn't join Ed on stage and didn't utter a single word during the rest of the gig.

Taking a smaller allocation would prevent fans like me and my family from attending games. I have supported the Albion since 1976 and we now live too far away to keep up our season tickets. There have been loads of threads on here encouraging the club to take maximum allocation to give fans like us the chance of attending games. We can’t travel far because of health issues but we can and do support the club in the North West. Now a few people can’t cope with having a few of the opposition in with us it seems a little over the top to suggest taking a smaller allocation or an attendance threshold. Beware unintended consequences.
I was in AL7 and row 26, pretty sure everyone around me was Albion but not surprising given they were first seats on sale and probably bought day one. Atmosphere locally was ok not as good as some, not bad but but it has been better.

The club could sort this out if it wanted too , it knows who are buying tickets for away games and those who buy for a specific away game. I know you (like my brother who is local to you) go to as many northern games as you can so it is pretty easy to separate out the one offs. What people tend to miss is that our more remote fans have been going to away games pre the premier league.

It's quite strange really, quite happy to mix with home fans in the pub but do agree a mixing in the ground is probably not a good thing. Surprised its not been picked up as a H&S issue.

I saw Apparat in Brighton many years ago, and he asked the crowd to stop talking a number of times as their sensitive stage mikes were picking up the talk. If you don’t know this guy some of his music is very etherial/Thom Yorke-ish. After a few ignored requests he cut the gig short and said “Okay, I’ll play some bangers and then we can all go home”

The problem is like me when I call the women out , I was in the wrong she had a massive go at me with her having 2 kids in tow not a lot I could say back , but I feel like I’ve done wrong and made to feel like it when I do call it out
You have done right. Would like to see our fans get them ejected tbh, or at least, call them out until they want to leave and no longer are enjoying it. Completely unacceptable.

Not aware of him but having a listen now (I was listening to some music as Mrs PGTips is watching something on TV I’m not interested in). Quite different to what I usually listen to - but I’m quite intrigued, so will explore further.

To be honest I’ve not listened to him for a long time but he has released some great stuff in the past. The albums I’m familiar with are
The last one is a score which I also saw performed live, with a totally respectful crowd, was great.

I know a few Brighton Fans who have supported Brighton for many years who also support (and I know we are nearly one now) a big Club.
I even know two Brighton ST holders who got "away end" Amex tickets for a game last season.
Then they aren't proper BHA fans then haha who the f*** supports two teams? One thing having a soft spot, but that's just wrong.

I wonder if any of these plastics would wear another teams regalia at Millwall or Leeds..? Our fans are far too pleasant and accommodating at times. I feel sorry for those that did travel all the way up there and had to sit amongst it. If these people are gaining tickets through 1901 members, it's something that needs to looked into.

I can't make the Liverpool home game as I'm in Mexico. My brother-in-law is an armchair 'Liverpool fan' and I wouldn't ever consider offering him my seat...! I just won't put those around me through it 🤣
Yeah, too nice!

But it was the torrent of abuse I got by this “women” I won’t do it again as it made the last 20 mins very uncomfortable as I say just feel sorry for her kids

You must of had some smart arse replies during your time.

I remember at college the lecturer was ranting about people not paying attention and some lad did one of the loudest farts during his rant.
The lecturer stopped and said with a straight face if that hits the back of my throat you lot are all failing, of course by this time we were all on the floor in hysterics 😂
