Thought we were magnificent, draw would have been a fair result, but.. Mo Salah, always scores against us. Great game. We destroyed them first half. Velts swan dives have been rumbled by refs (shame) McA, was lucky not to get a second yellow, Big Bart was immense. Well played lads.
All of this. Very proud of them today. It could have gone anyway.

Gary O'Neil's point about ref's 'unconsiously' favouring the big clubs was so true. I often wonder how many points it earns clubs like Liverpool every season.

Come on lads.

I’m Brighton through and through and I thought the ref was fine today. He generally let the play flow, wasn’t card happy, and got wise to some of our trying to win freekicks, particularly Veltman’s forward flop.

He had no bearing on the result today, and that’s my measure of a referee when we lose. We’d have lost the match just the same if it were Collina in the middle.

We squandered our chances in the first half, they came back with the crowd behind them and a chance to go/stay top, turned on the quality for the second goal, and punished us.

Like I said, good performance, ran their bollocks off, just not quite enough against a very good team. If we’d played that well against say, Ipswich, that would’ve made up for the three points difference.

Nothing due on the Europe tracker for this or the next one, relax. That was very solid today and promising for next week to get bonus points.
I broadly agree.

1. He had Veltman sussed right from the off. Most refs don't.

2. He had a great 1st half, letting the game flow.

3. His performance had no influence on the result.

However, second half he was definitely influenced by their crowd and then proceeded to give everything their way as a result.

Absolutely steaming about this result, the lads didn't deserve it.:devilish:

Sorry but Pervis has been off the pace and touch since returning, is he really the best we have?

Estupinan is not good enough unfortunately as I do like him. I know that Salah is very good but you don't let him on to his left foot, end of story. He made too many mistakes today, at least in the second half.
That just what I have posted!
I wasn't just referring to the Salah goal, he stands off plays too much, it drives me insane!
I can't remember him doing this before, has he lost pace since his injury?

I thought he was brilliant in the first half….. we were on the front foot then though

First half was fantastic. Then the crowd got behind them and that rearguard action was always going to end up breached eventually. Baleba must be injured.

Don’t agree with this at all. I thought he was superb today both defensively and going forward. He works so well with Mitoma and makes him twice as dangerous.

Looked knackered to me with 20 mins to go. He's not played the full 90 minutes too often for us over the past year but has now done it twice in 8 days, with another 45 mins against Liverpool in midweek. And marking Salah must be a bit of a workout. I had the impression he's starting to get back to his best.

Does seem that if we let one in, we'll concede another one quickly.
Game management is the big thing I think we need to work on.

Just calming things down after conceding, not taking any unnecessary risks. Only needs five minutes or so for heads to cool.
