Can I just say, I live in Seaford, and for a town with so many pubs, there isn’t a single one I like and actually go to. The food in The Old Boot used to be good, but last time I went it was gash. I’ve had the worst pint I’ve ever been served in Seaford.

Incredibly shit pubs here
Admittedly it was before I moved to Dorset, but the Wellie used to be a great pub back then.

Shame.

The ‘boy’ if you can call him that, he’s 15 and mature for his age, can basically get in ANY pub in Brighton if I fancy a pint, he’s ok with an orange juice, his phone or will join the conversation if he’s interested.

Up in Newcastle we spent the Sunday afternoon doing a tour of all the city centre pubs (very busy they were considering the time of day/number of them) About 50% of them knocked us back as they had a “no bairns” rule, which translates to “no under18s at any time under any circumstances”
Which is fine, their pub, their rules, I just found it unusual in this day and age
Unusual how? Some sort of maturity test paper at the door?

OK I'm in my 50's so I may be out of touch but I'll put it out there. Just how acceptable is it to be on the piss when you are in charge of your kids? Whether that be in the pub or perhaps just going to the football.

I always take my kids if I'm going to get pissed. Saves on taxis as they drive me home

No you are. You made a snide remark about my avatar which has literally no relevance to this thread. So tell me, what has children running around pubs got to do with the Israeli genocide?

I think it was in response to your comment about posting on here won’t change things in the same way that your avatar on here won’t change things either - don’t think it was a dig about your views on Palestine 👍

Since when was this American import of any interest across the waters
Halloween?
It was nothing compared to bonfire night back in the 70’s .. it was just Bob Apple really.

My theory is that trick or treating arrived in uk with nightmare on elm street films

Or did you mean kids in pubs ? Cause that was a thing in the 70’s but you had to sit quiet I can tell you!

Reminds me of the comedian Mike bubbins talking about Halloween apple bobbing In rural Wales in 70s and 80s.

What was the prize for being victorious in Bob Apple?

"You got to finish eating the half chewed and spit drenched Apple you and 4 other kids had waterboarded yourselves over for the last hour"

I have a 6 year old and he's never seen me drunk. I have taken him to the pub but I'd never have more than a couple in his presence. It's mostly my own hang up as my childhood was littered with seeing my mum getting absolutely shit faced on a regular basis so to be honest I just hate it.

Indeed. I think a couple is about fine.
