When he's on his game, he's incredible, when he's not he's frustrating and becomes more and more selfish.
He hasn’t been on his game since he returned from injury. Not one good performance. In fact he’s probably been below average in all of them. Patience is wearing thin and think it might be time to cut whatever profit we can get and let him try and sort himself out somewhere else.

if his name was Aaron Connolly or Ashley Barnes or something he’d be getting a lot more criticism.

He needs to sort whatever is going wrong out fairly quickly because he’s dropping 5/10s every appearance

He'd do well in Italy or Spain, I think. But who would pay us a big enough fee for him from those leagues? Only teams who already have better players.

It's strange watching the tide of opinion turn on Enciso. Yes he had a purple patch before his injury last season. I never really warmed to him, the petulance aggravates me. But there's no denying that if he sorts his attitude out he can be a top top player.

Come the summer I would definitely sell him. He doesn’t get in our match day squad when everyone is fit and we need to free up squad space for Osman and Buonanotte.

A luxury we don’t need and should cash in on.

I agree. What would you expect to get for him now though? At one point he was the next big thing…. Now I think we’d struggle to get £10m - £15m

Yeah I think £20m would be the limit from somewhere unless he starts scoring a few, even then I would sell. Dont suppose we could persuade him he want to move to Saudi!!

How about you all get behind the lad, hes a fantastic player that just needs a goal

He was far from poor tonight, in fact he was always trying to be positive on the pitch.

Honestly its like if he dosent thrash one on from 30 yards or tear apart a side thats top of the prem after having not started a game for weeks he must have had a nighmtare and been shit

All i saw was a player trying his bloody hardest as he always does and trying to make something happen.

He’s not doing well that’s true but a lot of the complaints I see, about him being greedy, not tackling, poor free kicks etc are stuff that we should be working on with him in coaching. If he’s come back from injury a poorer player than he was, is that just a reflection on him or is and our coaching as well?

Just far enough away from LDC
He is frustrating. At times last right he was playing worldie stuff. Then next breath was scowling and moping around.

I would love his willingness to do everything if it was always that way. But it turns off an on like a faulty rcd

I can’t pretend to know this kid or what’s going on in his mind. But I do know that at 20, I was a complete mess. I hope he gets an arm around his shoulder and some good advice. A bit of backing from the fans wouldn’t hurt, either.

If sending him out on loan is the best path, so be it. But I truly hope he’s being looked after. He seems like a young guy who could really use a mentor and some positivity right now - not endless criticism.

He's hardly started two games in a row since a 6-month injury - what do you expect? He's had 84 minutes of Premier League football and a few League Cup appearances this season, and I thought he was decent against Crawley and Wolves.

He wasn't great last night but the overreaction on here is a joke. The lack of minutes is probably contributing to the selfish play - he's trying too hard to make an impression.

That being said, if we get to January and things haven't improved, a loan would make a lot of sense, injury permitting. JP, Welbeck, Ferguson, Mitoma, Adingra, Minteh, Gruda & Georginio could feasibly all be ahead of him in the pecking order

I think Enciso's frustrated because he saw this as a two-year step - acclimatise to the league and then move on to a big team. He's miles behind that - West Ham is not his dream move FFS! But he needs to channel the frustration better. Hopefully Gomez coming in January will help him mentally and reset him - and you'd have thought that Gomez would have asked him about Brighton before agreeing to sign.

Sussex but not by the sea
As always some forgetting how young he is. Dunk couldn’t hold down a first team place at the same age and we weren’t in the Premier League then.
Yes but Dunk wasn't giving it Billy Big Bollox and demanding to go to international tournaments over playing for the club paying his wages, all after being out for a year.
While he swaned off to Paris a Frenchman of similar age was quietly taking his no 10 shirt from him.

Wanting to represent your country at the Olympics isn't 'giving it billy big bollox'...

Seems to me that he’s got a case of severe main character syndrome, however this isn’t necessarily his fault.

He’s heavily relied upon in Paraguay and with a nickname of “The Jewel” this carries additional pressure.

He needs to relax and work on becoming more of a team player and realise a pass, tackle or just 100% effort is equally contributory to a win than a screamer from 30 yards is.

I am sure it’s happened but he could do with some mentoring from the senior member of the squad about his focus and decision making, it’s not on him to do it all.
