Sparrowhawks are more common and often (relatively to peregrines) are in gardens targeting bird feeders .Thanks guys! I did attempt to use a bit identifier app but it was so much of a faff I thought I'd ask on here!

You are right, Peregrines are larger than Sparrowhawk ( at least males) Also unlikely to see one perched on a low roof - they don‘t hunt/stalk from perches but stoop/dive bomb birds in the air ( at incredible speeds)Mrs Bobkin's first thought was a falcon, but I thought they were larger than that.
