Betting sites tend to be more accurate as people are backing up their mouth with money(In the short term), so who is the moron? It is exaggerated a bit imo but it reflects trends.
The moron(s) in this case are the Trump supporters who have bet with their heart instead of their heads which, let’s be honest, doesn’t make that much difference as Trump pretty much only appeals to those who make decisions based on emotions rather than logic or facts.

Why can’t you or Dingo?

The number of times you’ve been asked directly why you would prefer Trump to Harris and all we get is ….

There is a serious point. I would have thought that Harris would be miles ahead in the polls, but she isn't. There has to be a reason for that beyond racism and MAGA wankpuffinry. Something about her ambience, maybe?

A bit like Starmer - I'm not disappointed with him because of the suits or the hamfisted winter fuel nonsense. There is just something off. Something suety. The endless repetition about his mother (I can't remember what it is she did for a living, now, but I seem to recall being told repeatedly) was.....weird.

I'm not expecting @lasvegan to explain yet again why he's backing Trump, and can live with a disagreement about this (I would happily back Harris, even Keith or Chopper, albeit probably not Rolf, given a choice).

But illuminating the odd lack of massive lead by Harris is useful, I think.

I could of course be wrong

Right, C.J!
I was going to type "I didn't get where you are today by being fair" but I know my audience and not everyone has watched the second series.

I can fully understand the reasons people hate Donald Trump, but I will never fully understand the adoration of Kamala Harris. Why can’t she answer a simple question?

You won’t find any evidence of Kamala Harris adoration on this thread. You are just screaming at the moon. What you will find is plenty of conjecture that she is better than Trump. That bar is so incredibly low that it means the vast majority of Americans over the age of 18 would make a better President than Trump. Anyone looks good next to that vain, thick, orange, selfish, narcissistic, spoilt, weird, racist, sexist, hopefully soon to die, c***.

When does Trump ever 'answer a simple question' - as opposed to descending into one of his incoherent, stream-of-consciousness, word-soup, rambles comprising play-ground insults and name-calling, blatant lies, and puerile boasts about how he's the best/smartest at everything, or "they tell me..."?

The guy is so clearly mentally deranged and unstable that I genuinely wonder about the mentality or mindset of people (apart from the immoral and unscrupulous mega-rich who want yet more tax cuts, because their greed is insatiable) who still support him.

If their only rationale is "Yeah, but what about Kamala Harris ...?", that just reinforces my doubts about their intellects or cognitive capacity.

I’m not a full in Harris lover but my post was in response to an article posted by one of the Trump supporters on this thread.

@Crawley Dingo and @lasvegan have continuously attacked the Democrats/Harris/Biden on this thread and the majority have attacked Trump.

The difference is, those that have attacked Trump provide good solid reasons why he is a worse choice than Harris. Why he is entirely unsuitable as a person to lead the US for another 4 years.

Every time @Crawley Dingo and @lasvegan are asked why they are voting for/prefer Trump, they deflect. I disagree with your premise that @lasvegan needs to “yet again” explain why he is backing Trump. He has not once explained that but thrown the question back as “why are you backing Harris?”.

Deflecting …

As you just did 🤷‍♂️

(ie in turning my posted question for Trump supporters round and couching it as ‘why isn’t Harris more popular’ …that’s not really the point and a whataboutery response … why are they personally still voting for/preferring a convicted felon, sexual predator and narcissistic, unstable fool? You can’t possibly believe it’s because Harris speaks weird or laughs too much? Is it because she is a woman? Because she’s Black? Do we really want to go there?)

Is Harris 'adored' by many? My observation is that she is celebrated as a serious and realistic candidate for the role, unlike the frivolously pathetic performance of the opposition.

Agreed.

Strongly analogous to Starmer vs. the Tories.

I don't think it's anything like Starmer vs the Tories. Yes Starmer is a serious politician, and yes the likes of Boris were a joke, but as others have said, when you're adding trump into the mix you're no longer comparing fine dining with McDonalds, you're comparing standard food with a bowl of shit.

Happy to 'deflect' about why Harris doesn't have the lead she should. I think it is interesting.

That doesn't mean I am giving any credence or houseroom to the merest hint of a suggestion that Trump has any merit (as a human being let alone president).

(I put Dingbat on ignore a very long time ago. Having any sort of discussion with him is a deflection from common sense.)

That made me smile.

But in fairness to Johnson, he also was, and is, a bowl of shit.

But unlike Trump he has better sprinkles.

Yeah I disagree. I really disliked Johnson. He was a self-serving unprincipled twat and I hated that people voted him as PM. But people like Trump are on a completely different level. Trying to properly compare them would feel trite. Boris wouldn't have tried to overturn an election. Even pointing out that makes me feel uneasy because to Trump is not worthy of comparison to anyone but the lowest of criminals.

Really? I'm confident that if Johnson had had the money and thought it would work, he would challenge an election. It is only his laziness and fecklessness that prevents him becoming a truly dangerous individual. He has no scruples or boundaries. As Max Hastings wrote, I would trust him neither with my wallet nor my wife.

(I'll grant you that Trump does seem to have gone other-level batshit bonkers in the last 5 years, but it wouldn't surprise me to find that he has neurodegeneration of some sort.)

There endeth real-life pantomime villain Top Trumps

Especially when the answer may be simpler than you think. I speculate that these chaps are to the right of centre right, so will always prefer the rightest option. A bit like over here where many will always vote the same because that's what they/their family have always done so the figurehead is irrelevant. For the rest of us, Trump's plans are as unappealing as it gets but hey ho.

I tend to agree. Boris got elected in large because there were many, including some diehard Labour supporters whose vote first and foremost was anyone but Corbyn, conversely in last election, Starmers landslide wasnt just a validation of him, Labour or his policies it was in large part to "get the Tories out".

And so it is in US right now, there will be those who are seduced by Trumps bullshit, there will be some who like Harris, but theres a large contigent of people on both sides who view Trump in same way many did Corbyn or the Tories at our last elections and will simply vote for the "other option" as least worst choice or to try and stop Trump.
