Can’t we just send the PGMOL an apology and move on?
Well.....To be even more pedantic, the Latin plural of prospectus is prospectus. But the usual English plural is prospectuses. Prospecti is just wrong .... as any fule kno
Would that bring it back to 4-1 ?Can’t we just send the PGMOL an apology and move on?
I don’t get the hyperbole about Uncle Sam's on NSC. Admittedly, I’ve sampled their wares only from the Eastbourne outlet, and possibly this is an outlier. It was decent enough, and I have been back a second time, but I couldn’t understand the hype I’m afraid. That said, I agree that the Amex offering is dreadful. I tried one last season and will never make that mistake again.Oh good gosh yes. Comparing an Uncle Sams to an Amex burger is like comparing Myleene Klass to Ann Widdecombe.
Sadly I don't really have an Uncle Sams option along the way. Nearest would probably be Montpelier Street, but I'm not yomping all the way down there.
I’m a complicated fellowI've read some funny old posts on here in my time but "I spent 15 minutes trying to remember what a programme is called" is right up there!
Haven’t tried the Eastbourne one so maybe you got unlucky. The Montpelier one is outstandingI don’t get the hyperbole about Uncle Sam's on NSC. My other whinge about the Amex catering is that the outlets (ESU, anyway) never have in stock the stuff they advertise. The menu/pricelist above the counter always highlights something — Special Magic Mushroom Pie! Or whatever. But when I ask for one, they’ve no idea what I’m talking about.
Gregg?Maybe we need Greg Wallace to do an Inside the Operator to better educate everyone
I now have visions of you being taunted by opposition fans at a football match with a chorus of "Who are you, who are you" and you basically not having a scooby doo!Happens to all of us, I’m in my late 30’s and couldn’t for the life of me remember my age the other day.
Let’s be Avin yooooou, where are yoooooouI now have visions of you being taunted by opposition fans at a football match with a chorus of "Who are you, who are you" and you basically not having a scooby doo!
They are franchised, so quality may vary from branch to branch. As @jcdenton08 correctly observes, the Montpelier Street one is outstanding, and always has been.I don’t get the hyperbole about Uncle Sam's on NSC. Do you know, I’ve had the exact same issue at other branches, but never Montpelier St! It’s gotten to the point where I order the double chili cheeseburger with just onion now and avoid the ice cold lettuce scenario. They are franchised, so quality may vary from branch to branch. The closest one to my dwelling is Shoreham, the one opposite Southlands. It is also very good, but my only MILD complaint is that they tend to put copious amounts of ice-cold salad onto a hot burger. Which means when I get home, it is in need of a quick zap from Mike. I do tend to say "easy on the salad hombre" these days, which goes some way towards alieviating the issue. I do like some lettuce and red onion though. I'm not an animal.
Likewise. It is just an occasional treat, sometimes if I happen to be passing it.Do you know, I’ve had the exact same issue at other branches, but never Montpelier St! It’s gotten to the point where I order the double chili cheeseburger with just onion now and avoid the ice cold lettuce scenario.
I make it sound like I have it all the time, but living in Seaford and relying on public transport, I don’t go as often as I would like. But my arteries are thankful I think
Very much so. Burgess Hill is consistently good whereas the two in Worthing have been dire the last couple of times I tried. They are franchised, so quality may vary from branch to branch. As @jcdenton08 correctly observes, the Montpelier Street one is outstanding, and always has been.
Montpelier was their first shop, and still the best. I probably go less than once a year and while the staff change they tend to be both aware and proud of this. They are franchised, so quality may vary from branch to branch. Pricing difference is a few pence. the mark up is purely down to the seller.Which bit? My psychic powers are not working this evening

Whooooooo…. Whoooooooo…. Who do you think you are?Uncle Sam’s is incredibly overrated on here. Maybe 20 years ago you would have looked at Uncle Sam’s as a half decent option for a burger. But pretty every specialised burger place trumps uncle Sam’s these days.
Smoque and Buddies are better in the Hill in my experienceVery much so. Burgess Hill is consistently good whereas the two in Worthing have been dire the last couple of times I tried.
