Pretty sure quite a lot of the stories in those comics wouldn't be seen as acceptable to today's audience.

I remember getting the first issues of Monster Fun, which I loved, but it was one of those titles that got quickly absorbed by other titles.

I seem to recall spreading out the titles across our friend groups.

I think we had Beano/Whizzer and Chips and Monster Fun.
The Tiger/Eagle/Fireball/Commando was my best friend and his brothers.
My Sisters Best friend's family had Dandy/Whoopee/Topper.

Viz is obviously superb. Gran didn’t have too many copies of that lying around though.

Although I’m sure cries of Oh Lordy! It’s the Fat Slags! Would have made her chuckle.

My spod brothers used to get White Dwarf and some other nerdy publications.

I got Whizzer & Chips and Dandy.

I have a good collection of Rupert annuals, including some astonishingly racist ones. Rupert visits N****r Island and befriends a little C***n.

Sparky, Pow, Wham, Fantastic, Terrific.

Newmarket.
2000AD. I recall waiting for the monthly (?) issue to drop through the letterbox at my home in Mönchengladbach then finishing it easily within the day.
I had plenty of theses annuals too.
This one is on eBay for £499!!!!

Whizzer and Chips was my go to comic rather than the Beano.

I recall Action! From 1976 and the furore it caused with its graphic violence and gore. Was taken off the shelves in Oct 76 and came back a neutered beast, but for those months, it really was a different comic to the others around it. A lot of derivative storylines but as an 11/12 year old, who cares?

Scorcher and Tiger and Jag.

Had The Football family Robinson,
Had Lags eleven and Bobby of the Blues who played for Everpool.
Friday nights after school straight down our local newsagents.
I often wonder if Roy of the Rovers is still in the game.
