One of the absolute worst, most biased of the whole VAR period.Yep. We go to football, sometimes 90 minutes of NOTHINGNESS, in anticipation of maybe that ONE moment of spontaneous elation......and now we need to wait for it to be ratified.
It's really really really bad
People point to other sports using a review system but the issue is these are sports where teams score LOTS of times. A try, touchdown or wicket is obviously a moment, but it's no where near the importance of a goal.
In the rugby PL there is, on average, close to 6 tries a game and tries aren't the only method to score goals. There's also kicks
NFL has around 5 touchdowns per game and it not the only method of scoring. There's also kicks
Cricket is a stop start game with the team needing to take 10 wickets.
Football can be won by a single goal.
Remember when Coventry has a last minute of ET winner ruled out against Man Utd for this? The team had celebrated, the fans had gone wild.....they were on their way to an FA Cup final....and then they show the toenail of a player involved was allegedly offside using the faultless technology. Goal ruled out and united win.
And some fans say this is better.
