Whilst Brighton got most of the attention when RDZ joined Unai was quietly improving his Villa team. No massive signings, or at least by today's standards, in a fact a squad of players whom I, when put on the spot, failed to name one. Last season when RDZ took his eye off the ball and allowed our team to slowly fall down the league, AV were going the other way up to 4th, whilst becoming a bogie team for us.

Here's hoping FH quickly adapts tactics according to the opposition and can help us at least match Villa in the next 2 years.

Yeah well done them, but they have spent decent money. So you'd hope for this improvement.

It'll all come tumbling down around them soon enough and there will be fretful calls for Emery's head (ooh you are awful).
Only the very very best Managers deserve praise for sustainable results, and they're mostly only where they are bolstered by huge amounts of dosh. Too much credit is wantonly heaped on those Managers who by a quirk of fate stumble upon a season or two's "success",
witness Arseteta, and Roy's slight rise and fall as but two examples. One month they're saviours the next sinners.
They'll be deserving of praise if they can stay up there for a reasonable amount of years but as pretty much always, other than the usual suspects they're just a flash in the pan.

You are really going against the grain here, visibly hating Aston Villa is one if the things you need to do to 'fit in' here.

Personally I really admire where they are, but I have several Villa- supporting friends and not a wisp of arrogance amongst them. Am pleased for them how they are doing, must be a hell of a ride.

Every team has injuries to their players which can be short or long term, and unfortunately, a whole spate of them at the same time. Think back to 2022/23 season, Liverpool had injuries galore, we on the other hand from when RDZ joined to the end of the season didn’t have any of note. The reverse was true last season when we suffered because of it.

Having said that I would agree with you about having a top class medical team. Didn’t we bin off the medics last season for various reasons to do with the health and welfare of the players? We may have addressed that situation and also now have like for like replacements for all positions. Maybe it’s a case of the club being proactive now rather than reactive as in the past?

In the highlights package I saw it was all Bayern and Villa were saved by a brilliant keeper display from Martinez and a rush of blood from Neuer. Good result for them though , hopefully it wont continue.

o how you show your bias lol. by that statement RDZ could be seen as the same - 2 seasons of reasonable success and hes off.
