I think for me some stand out bits were the gathering of albion fans in La Joliette before the game, soaking up all the pre match atmosphere. I was one of many who was unfortunately late to the game due to the buses but when in the ground, was nothing short of brilliant. The atmosphere was on another level and the way the players dug deep and got a late point was something to remember forever. What a game a what a few days. Even a year on still gives me goosebumps.

Day started with a god awful hangover after a late night at the F pub, amazing memories pre-match in the bars and square meeting up with so many I'd not seen for years. Easily the best in ground atmosphere I've ever heard from Marseille fans, truly deafening. Awful start but what a comeback that sparked some very unruly celebrations and loads of fun waiting to get out of the ground for hours. Brilliant night and a huge bucket list item completed.

Even being in the square in the afternoon with beers in the sun and 25 degrees felt like this is European football. This is different.
Coach to the ground with police escort and plenty of hard signals from the locals.
Incredible atmosphere, so loud that at some points we couldn’t even try and sing.
The comeback started by Gross and then the penalty. The only time at football my top came off and was waived above my head.
Then mop man so that even the long wait didn’t matter. The greatest away day ever and one I will never forget. Up there with FA cup semi in 1983. Felt so emotional about our journey that took us to Marseille.
Had never really understood Liverpool talking about special European nights. I got it after Marseille. The Premier league doesn’t come close.

I remember the French high speed trains, we went St Pancras, Lille & Marseille. So impressed I'm doing it again Monday. Paris, Barcelona, Madrid.
Back then the Lille to Marseille ticket was £25.42 each.
It was quite interesting reading back then all the different routes everyone took to get to Marseille. Some absolute shocking but brilliant ways of getting there but credit to those who done their research and managed to save themselves a few bob.

Ah yes, it was just brilliant!
Flew into Nice and then train across. Great atmosphere in the square before and loved the noise in the stadium.
Definitely one of my favourite aways
