[Help] Electric shower advice please

I have an Aqualisa which was originally installed on a similar system to yours. I've since changed to a combi boiler. The bloke installing the combi boiler told me I would need to change the controller board (I think) on the pump as it would burn out over time. Was he pulling a fast one or do they need different controllers depending on the system?
You definitely need a different controller, think it’s called a processor, it has the pump inside, it’s a black rectangular box with 3 pipes.
You don’t need a pump if you have a combination boiler

That sounds about right. I didn't think he was on the take but I have no idea about these sorts of things.....he was a nice bloke and showed me the part and how much it cost. He only whacked a drink on top for himself to fit it.

Get a grip, I’m giving no advice, if anyone decides not to put the right cable and fuse in to suit the items they’ve bought then that’s nothing to do with what I’ve said. What electrician wouldn’t use the correct cable?
As I said, buy the highest rated one you can afford, it goes without saying that includes the cost of installation.

It's a little commented on fact, that no tradesman, handyman or DIY enthusiast has ever made a mistake or bodged a job.

A sparks should not make a simple mistake as cable size, if they do they definitely aren’t qualified it’s not exactly difficult to work out.
It's not really a comment on any specific trade. I've seen plenty of work in construction that it's pretty obvious nobody should do, have done or even considered doing.
My just retired father in law, a tradesman of 50 years, has mentioned many tricks and deliberately bodged horror stories. Imposed by his bosses or property developers.

I was looking at a block of new flats being built the other day the brick work was wonky as shit on one particular section on the ground floor stood out like a sore thumb.
The Telegraph recently had an interview with a skilled plasterer about the industry, he said:
“I have certainly encountered cowboy builders. Because we’re running out of plumbers, plasterers, electricians and tradespeople in general, you see a lot of people starting out without experience. I’ve had to go to jobs that have been mucked up by a young plasterer.
I don’t think they are trying to rip people off but they are trying to do too much too soon, cutting corners and thinking mainly of the money. I’ve gone through a lot of training and I think, with DIY tutorials online, some guys think they can come in, do it and charge the money – but they’re not able to do the job well enough”.
If it's a new block of flats I'd guess it's cladding panels rather than actual masonry that they've somehow messed up?
I was working on a transformer replacement a few months ago and when we removed all the gravel from the concrete bund it turned out the original builders had somehow not bothered to install the base. A fairly crucial part of a bund, you might have thought.
Obviously way the cables were laid out across the site was completely nonsensical as well. And poorly recorded but that's a given.

What pisses me off is the customer who’s had a disaster with inexperience and a cheap price has now called the competent guy who was probably double the price in the first place and expects it to be rectified for next to nothing as the money has left the job.
I hate rectifying a mess it’s easier to start again and it won’t be cheap. Never get those
Aqualisa here. No sudden temperature change when someone switches on a tap or flushes the lav. Nice powerful output.
However, after 6 years we need to change something inside because the calcium crystals have worn a cylinder so it drips when off, and does not fully isolate the two water outlets (the high fixed shower and the smaller hand-holdable one) when in use. £250 parts and fitting. Seems reasonable.

The builders renovating our kitchen 10 years ago sub-contracted the electrics. After they finished, I had to unscrew all of the sockets and put the green wire to the earth, and the wire they had connected to the earth to the live or neutral - depending upon which colour they had randomly chosen.
I refused to pay the builders for the electricians invoice - I have no idea whether they just absorbed the loss, or, in their turn, refused the pay the electrician.
The next day I rewired the boiler so the remote thermostat actually worked.
No, but I've been in Scranton, PA, the Electric City before. Also the home of President Biden. And you thought Michael Scott was the weirdest guy in Scranton.
