[Brighton] First time visitor: advice welcome

Hi there all of u!

Were visiting the home game against Wolves on the 26th of october.
We are a family of 5 from the Netherlands. (Senior, 3 brothers and a 16 y old teen)

Tickets booked
Train Booked
Hotel booked

Need advice:
pre match 'cant miss' places
restaurant / pubs for food after the match

And: I read that sometimes it's difficult to get inside a bar or something like that after 9 in the evening. Any advice on that?

Looking forward to our visit!!

Pre-match: enjoy any of the pubs around Brighton Station, which is a 10-minute train journey to the stadium.

The likes of the Prince Albert, the Battle of Trafalgar, Evening Star and the Caxton Arms will all be welcoming.

Queues for the train can build up a bit and, as a first-time visitor you may want to walk around the stadium and head into the shop etc, so maybe aim for a train for around 1:30. You can get more beer in the ground and maybe try one of the excellent pies.

Don't rush out to get the train back after the game - queues will be long. Stay behind and have a beer - you can move to any concourse you like, and The North is the most vibrant.

Post-game, the same area is good for beers. You may struggle in the middle of town with a 16-year-old, but the station-area pubs will probably be OK. Someone else may advise on that.

There are lots of good places to eat - what sort of food are you into?

The places @Bozza mentioned are all great pre/post match. I tend to go Lord Nelson (5min walk to station) pre match and Caxton Arms post-match.

Any pubs around the station will be bustling with Albion fans, if you want a quieter pint/food there are plenty of pubs slightly further out from the station that will be better post match. A 5/10 minute walk from the station is Unbarred Taproom - they have a good selection of Beers and great food (Pizza from Fatto a mano) which I can’t recommend enough.

Thanks! Much appriciated. I think I will go for some pubfood. Give the 16 year old proper taste of English food.

Any chance of smuggling some bitterballen in with you? Got absolutely hooked on the stuff when we visited for Ajax last season, can't find an equivalent anywhere here 😔

Absolutely love the Dutch lads in the side, JP Van Hecke especially. Wieffer looks like he'll be a great fit for the team as well. Enjoy!

You will struggle to get your teen into bars after 8pm (some pubs have different times) some will say no, whatever the time is. Narrow down your selections from what people suggest & then ring them to check what time your teen can stay until. Then book a table in a restaurant for after that. 🙂

Where are you staying? I'm sure you'll get some tailored advice on good stops in the right direction.

Isn't this the game where there are about a hundred Dutch fans coming over? Started by somebody who I think is one of the Van Hecke family. They've filled a couple of coaches, so the prospect of a round of Links Rechts at the Amex is looking absolutely terrific.
