Do you think this will be the weekend Ferdi makes his first start in the league?

Dropping Veltman would be super harsh, but I can see it. Ferdi's speed on the recovery might get him the nod up against a very fast Chelsea front line

Or if he goes the other way, Pervis I think is still well below his usual levels, but probably needs a run of games. He provides natural balance, attacking threat a bit of chemistry with Mitoma and when properly fit is a massive player for us

Predictions? Preferences? Specifically on the full back positions

Ferdi may well start for all of the reasons you have given... It would be harsh on Joel though.
Re Pervis... I would definitely keep in in the 11. He isn't up to full speed yet for sure but I remember when he joined that he was way below par initially before finally finding his feet. I have a feeling with him that he is someone that needs to build up a head of steam.

Pervis is finally injury free, he needs to keep playing.
Re Ferdi it all depends how we set up - against Arsenal we didn't push our defenders up as much as we have done. If that's the plan then it's Veltman for me, if however FH decides we are going to take the game to Chelsea then it's Ferdi please.

Agree. Mitoma will also be much more effective with Pervis playing - massively limits the oppo ability to double up on him because Pervis will overlap/use the space so well when he's on his game.

Mid mid mid Sussex
Ferdi RB and Pervis LB please.

They’re our first choice full backs as far as I’m concerned

Ferdi RB and Pervis LB please.

They’re our first choice full backs as far as I’m concerned and now they’re both fit, they need a run of games in the starting 11 to build understanding with the other players.

Their pace will be essential against Chelsea.
Ferdi says he regards himself as a left back. When he starts in the league, barring injuries I think it will be there

Agreed we need to match their pacey players as least with a team that's not slow. I would go with.

Bart

Ferdi
JPvH
Dunk
Estupinan

Baleba
Hinshelwood

Minteh - not been effective going forward but quick and works hard defensively.
Georgino
Mitoma

Welbeck
I think that could be the team but I do wonder if we want both Baleba and Wieffer in the middle for this one. Hinch replaces Rutter. Go very solid. Attacks come down the flanks with both Hinch and Baleba getting forward.

The other option with Ferdi and Pervis at full back is that Weiffer or Baleba sits back when we attack.
This could be us morphing into Fab's preferred formation.

Wonder if there’s a chance Ferdi starts in right midfield with Veltman at right back?

Ferdi is reportedly comfortable anywhere so it would make us very flexible. Rutter could pop up on the wing and Ferdi could invert into midfield, and one of the midfielders could push on.

Or we could transition into a back 3 of Veltman JPVH Dunk with Pervis and Ferdi as wingbacks.

I’m sure Ferdi was signed with this purpose of making us fluid/flexible partly in mind.

I think this is possible. Ferdi did after all score, when played in an attacking position in the cup

I think less likely. Just as the manager doesn't seem to be reverting to a back 3.

Where you putting Hinshelwood ? Listening to Fab in his press conference he's more or less saying he gets included 'somewhere'.
