I hope we don't draw the team with one hand on the trophy already: Palace. They are going to do the domestic cup double this season as well as qualifying for the champions' league.

Can we get back to this f***ing farce of a draw in the current round, where the top teams got to avoid each other to make sure they didn't have fixture clashes, and then they play on the same days anyway? (Arsenal and Liverpool today, Chelsea, City, Villa yesterday). Pisses me off is what it does.
You didn’t understand the last draw then?

It was so they could also play their European games in the other game week, not so they played on different evenings to each other. That said, it could have been easier achieved in other ways - including making them play each other. It was a badly thought out method all round.

Absolute morgue-like atmosphere at Anfield tonight, almost played out to silence.

Who knew ?

Apparently not

That makes no sense. They could and did play their European games in the other week, and then they could and did play their League Cup games this week - and they could have done all of that without having to avoid each other in the draw.

If a team in the Champions League had drawn a team in the Europa League, there was no midweek both would be available to play. The way it was avoided was a sledgehammer / nut response that could have been dealt with much more easily.

All this build up to let us down with Arsenal or similar away.
