Food isn't the club, it's Serco. If it's sold out it's because the Serco stand manager is under a LOT of pressure not to have any wastage at the end of their shift and have to guess how much to cook. Serco seem to prefer to slightly under cater so they don't lose money with food thrown away at the end of the shift rather than over cater and make more sales. The stand manager is just a random that is on a zero hours contract and isn't particularly well versed in their role usually.
I hope the vegan KitKats that the WSU stand manager over ordered have a long shelf life

I assume you mean Sodexo, not Serco ?
Serco seem to be mainly responsible for transporting prisoners. Although I grant you, the food prices are criminal.

Not sure what the production costs of a pie are but last season noticed one of the stewards walking out with a bin liner (white and translucent) with about 50 pies in it....

Yep. Its not bad now. And for us non drinkers it's opened up the tea queue.

I'm honestly amazed anyone eats food at the stadium. It's absolute slurry. Even the smell of it turns my stomach. Microwaved meat served by oily 16y year olds
Not sure l agree with your comments, (when it comes to the wonderful Piglets pies), but love your choice of words, "microwaved meat, and oily 16 year olds"!

My lad liked the new cheeseburger.

I liked the 10% discount.

Sadly no sign of the sausage and egg muffin thing.

Sorry but it is 100% the club. They award the catering contract and dictate the terms and ultimately the amount the contractor can spend on the ‘offering’. It’s to the clubs discredit that they don’t care that their ‘customers’ are being ripped off

WSU was a mess before kickoff. I started queuing at ten past two and took nearly 30 minutes to get a Bovril and some tap water.

One poor girl was servIng two different queues in the middle kiosk. Eventually the stand manager got hold of the supervisor and told him to get someone else serving as the queues were blocking the concourse.

Indeed ultimately it is the club yes, but a lot of the things being moaned about here are the result of quite low paid managers making decisions with pressure from their higher ups to save money/keep costs down. I’m sure Barber will tell us it is a great success as they’ve sold more pies than ever before or the like.

asked for guest pie and cup of tea

order taken and paid for

then says

- no guest pies left
- no cups of tea left

So had chicken pie and coffee - suspect if I asked for refund instead would still be waiting there now

Due to the kick off time today I needed something to eat at the ground, so for the first time this season I did at The Amex. I went for the cheeseburger. My biggest gripe with it was the bun - it felt and tasted stale. As for the rest of it, it's never going to be a gourmet burger at a football ground, but it actually did the job. Shame about the bun though.

And that's the 'upgraded' bun 🙄

WSL queues were moving quickly at HT, wasn't even planning to have a pint but thought I may as well take the opportunity while it was there, and had ample time to drink it before KO. Seems something changed for the better today in terms of service, hopefully it continues.

Actual LOLZ at seeing the couple in front of me at HT in NS order one of these.. wasnt quite so funny when they asked for knife and fork and server was pretty baffled.. not sure if they got cutlery, and how/where you would find a place to put it down and eat it..
Looked pretty good tho, Cauli cheese, carrots, Roasties, Gravy (!) Madness at a footie game..
