I can only eat tomato if it's chopped / blended / whatever into the meal.

Slices of tomato? Heck no.
Chopped toms in a bolognese? All over it.
Same with me but really need to be blended rather than chopped.
To me the smell of tomato plants are almost the same as stinging nettles …

I’ve eaten a lot of things in SE Asia that would turn most people’s stomachs quite happily, and would do again if I had to (to get the deal done, for example).

There’s only one thing I won’t/can’t eat: dessicated coconut, I can’t swallow it - it just all collects into a little ball in mouth that just won’t go down. Bounty bars deserve their own little corner in hell.

I bet you'd like callos a la madrileño (the most popular Spanish tripe dish. My partner's father, a tripe hater, tried it and loved it. Until told what it was, after which he wouldn't eat any more :lolol:

A Manchester-based Spanish chef in the 70s is quoted as saying "English style tripe is like a woman who's just got out of bed in the morning. Spanish tripe is after she has done her hair and makeup". I'm not sure if you'd get away with such a quip these days but I know what he means.
The Spanish and the Romans make some excellent dishes with tripe.

Can't stand Celery, eat pretty much everything else although not that struck on cucumber and beetroot
I love beetroot. The most underrated vegetable there is imho.

I’m a bit weird with eggs. Won’t eat anything that looks like an egg - fried, poached, boiled. Also won’t eat scrambled eggs but will eat an omelette, which I know are basically the same thing.

I have friends who likes eggs but won't eat them outside.

I'm a vegetarian so no meat or fish for me, but apart from that, I'll eat just about anything. The only other thing that I don't like is milk chocolate, it reminds me of eating meat. I like 80%+ dark chocolate though

I have an aversion to celery too (we would not have been welcome in the Cavemen Crew) - but, strangely, like celery salt.

I can’t think of anything I wouldn’t eat at all.
I’d give sheep’s a miss if they were edible and a delicacy

CAN'T EAT:

Duck egg (I like it but am allergic, which is weird as I can eat Hen and Quail egg no problem, but duck egg makes me vomit) and Sweetcorn (my body can't cope with something that wants to come out exactly as it went in and gives me stomach cramps).

WON'T EAT

No one has ever prepared Swede or Turnip in a way that has made me like it. Tripe smells and tastes like wet sheepdog (credit, the late, great Anthony Bourdain for that one, he was bang on). And, for anyone else who has been to Japan, Natto. Natto is revolting.

Pretty much everything else is fair game. Raw or cooked, offal or expensive cut, meat or veg or pulse. I'll try anything.

Worst thing I've ever tried? Had to be snake sperm (in a shot of firewater) in Snake Alley Market in downtown Taipei. I was in an eating dare competition with the Palace fan I was working with. We both retired undefeated after Snake Alley.
