Seagolazo is entered over 7f at Haydock on Thursday (4.10).

After a promising debut the step up to 7f should suit. There are two Goldophin runners entered in the race. One a previous winner (carrying 6lb penalty) and the other a newcomer.

The Flying Seagull is out again tomorrow in the opener at Chester, 6.05.
Will probably start favourite, main danger oddly enough is probably Brighton Boy, ridden by Brighton-born Jason Watson, and owned by Brighton-based nature enthusiast Michael Blencowe.

This was a difficult race to assess really. Seagolazo was staying on but was hemmed in by a riderless horse on his outside. Would he have finished closer to the Godolphin 1-2? Probably - but far from convinced he could have beaten them. But stayed on well into third, never nearer than at the line. Could see him stepped up in trip again. (He was well supported in the market. I backed him EW at 6s in the morning but was returned 7/2).

Flying Seagull carries a 6lb penalty for his CD win last time out. He doesn't have the best of draws in 7 so will need to be alert at the start. Groundsman (btn 4.5l last time) reopposes with the plum 1 draw and 6lbs better off. Could be the danger.

Seagolazo runs in the first at Chester tomorrow.

Currently odds on. Looks a bit easier than last time out, hasn't got two Godolphin horses up against him this time and is well drawn. Looks like a good opportunity to open his account.

ETA Was a solid performance. Lazy as the stalls opened and had to be rousted along first half dozen or so strides. Soon led on the rails and he and market rival went clear. Might have briefly lost lead but soon re-established it and stayed on best, going away at the line. Be interesting to see what's next. All three of the owners horses have now won.

(The Flying Seagull has an entry in Ireland on 5 August)

Seagulls Eleven is mixing it with the elite in the Group One National Stakes at the Curragh tomorrow. Henri Matisse is fav for Aidan O'Brien, Godolphin run Aomori City, Seagulls Eleven is second in on Timeform ratings and priced up at around 12-1. It's the 2yo championship race in Ireland basically, suspect they may all be running for second behind Henri Matisse but simply getting placed in a race like this would make him a seriously valuable horse.

Seagulls Eleven is attracting cash, now down to general 7-1 third-favourite.

Seagulls Eleven one of six declared for the Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday (3.00) - the most valuable and prestigious two-year-old race of the British season. Win this and he's in the conversation for champion juvenile colt & next year's 2,000 Guineas, & worth maybe 50-100x the 50k they paid for him.

Seagolazo also entered on Saturday at York. (3.15). Burdened with a massive 9-9!

Its only a 15K race so if he runs the owners must think he has a chance. No betting for race yet.

Having only been beaten a length (in 4th) to Camille Pissario (in 2nd) in the Weatherbys £300k 2yo Stakes at Donny, the latter won the big Gp1 2yo at Longchamp last weekend, then strict interpretation of the form justifies the rating and the 9-9 weight in a £15k Nursery, but you'd like to think he should now be running in Group races. If that's the case, a Group Class runner in a Nursery "should be" nailed on ;-)

on a 2m round course that is a lot of circuits - worse than jumps racing at Fakenham :lolol:

Also in for juvenile turf at next month's Breeders cup.
Definitely one to watch.
