Best friend is a Leeds fan and laughed that we’d paid £40m for him and thought they’d horrendously over paid at £35m albeit looked good in championship. Hope
He’s wrong.
A Leeds fan has never been right. Ever

Thought he looked decent. Shame he didn’t get the ball more as the game went on.

Looks strong in the ball. Probably should have scored though

As I said before, if he is expecting through balls to run on to he needs to speak to Fati!

it’s early days, but he will soon come to realise that our compact build up leads more to scraps being fed to forwards, preferring little flicks and cute short balls in midfield.

Ayari looked just as frustrated by making similar runs, and eventually giving up wasting his energy!

I don’t think our play suits out and out strikers like ferguson or rutter. Even Pedro and welbeck tend to drift out wide to get the ball.

but we are unbeaten and didn’t lose today so maybe that is how we are set up To play irrespective of the players. Even if kane was up front he wouldn’t get any service.

What’s the reason he has his first name on the back of his shirt? No usual for a French player.

Thought he looked good. Strong on the ball, quick and has an eye for a pass. Given Mitoma and Minteh were total passengers and made the wrong decision time and again, I can't quite understand why he's getting a lot of flack.

Behind JP, Baleba and Ayari (maybe Hinsh) in the MotM stakes, but at least he did something

I didn't notice he was playing for the first 30 minutes.

We hit about a hundred high crosses, all straight into the keeper's hands.

I have to keep reminding myself that Georginio Rutter is still only 22, a France Under 23 international, and still developing.
He should really have Marmite on the back of his shirt as I reckon opinions are going to be more divided over him than any player we have.
His footwork and creativity look top class for someone so big. Early impressions from my untrained eye see someone who maybe trying to make one pass too many on occasions rather than taking the responsibility to shoot.
His weakness maybe that he's too unselfish.

By Christmas, we'll know whether we've got Steve Bruce's Joelinton or Eddie Howe's Joelinton. Hopefully the latter.

The reticence in shooting could be just a confidence issue that we see with most young players just signed to a new team However, with Rutter, the reticence may not be a weakness but a strength in the making for us given his excellent distribution of the ball and the role he played at Leeds:

We could do worse than having someone with De Bruyne’s level of ‘unselfishness’ on the squad to provide assists or a Messi type false 9 that creates chances for others.

Yes Leeds paid over £35m for him themselves.
They actually didn't that's just a myth , it was nearer £24m the rest to take it to " potentially " £35m was with add ons that clearly never kicked in .
Leeds fans were pissed off at losing him because he was a big character on and off the pitch and they lost a big player to boost their season and they all new the money wouldn't be re invested .He isnt a premier league player yet and is hugely frustrating , strong as a fecking ox , tricky but can't shoot .
