i remember trying to get in there late one night with Graham Moseley and a few of my mates. The bouncers wouldn't let any of us in. Can you imagine a premiership player not getting into a club, and not a top one, these days?

Mind you, the bouncers, they were not doormen, were psychos. They would pick on customers if there was not enough agrro.

moseley drove us over that night:facepalm: talk about brown shirts my pants were pure brown that night!:hilton:

Just been discussing the Dance Factory with someone who doesn’t believe it existed.
It certainly existed, I was a regular there during a brief spell I lived in Crawley mid 80s (Crawley had nowhere to go after 11pm at that time)

The main thing I seem to remember was at a time we didn’t have a pot to piss in, the number of times me and three mates would leave 15 mins early and ask any Crawley cabs waiting “what name mate?” They would often reply with a name to which we’d agree and jump in as the return fare was always paid in advance.
(awaits an ERNEST style reply from someone pretending to be a 1980s Crawley resident that had to walk 10 miles up the A23 at three in the morning 🤣)

Crawley
I well known lad from Crawley, around '86, got into a scrap with the bouncers, and came out with less bruises than they did, so they offered him a job. He had to refuse because he was only 17.
I think it closed a year or so after, when the bouncers battered someone to death with a baseball bat, or maybe the bat was used on the bouncers in the revenge attack, memory is a bit faint on that.

Used to go the Dance Factory between 84 and 86 for something different.

Always the sound of very nasty fights (glass), also saw the doormen fighting back violent gatecrashers.

Finally closed when the doormen murdered someone with the baseball bat?

I don't think Crawley had any venues opening until 2pm, so its residents went to either Stroods/Dance Factory, Martine's at East Grinstead or Busby's in Redhill.

It changed from being Cinderellas to the Dance Factory (aka the Fight Factory) in, I think, 1983. It definitely existed.

Seemed to be a lightning conductor for loads of aggressive bampots.

On the subject of the Friday Ad site in Sayers Common I believe that Porsche have purchased the site for a new showroom and will be closing the existing one down in Burgess Hill industrial site.

The Friday Ad MD was an Albion loyalist. Effectively gifting the club £0.5m in the years we sought planning permission.

It had a great vibe for sure,... New Years Eve was outstanding ......

We went to Cinderella's to catch a personal appearance by Marc Almond.... he was shit, rude and off his tits... He got chased out through the gents toilet window.... I kid you not.... interesting evening.
