80% of plastic waste in the ocean comes from the land and I've noticed a significant reduction in bottle caps on Brighton beach since its introduction, just like how plastic bags virtually disappeared overnight after the introduction of the charge. Brightly coloured bottle tops are just the right size for ingestion by a variety of marine animals and being small are often missed by beachcleaners and then get into the sea for centuries.

It was difficult enough to get drinks manufacturers to accept the principle of them, and they've (specifically Coke - which has been copied lots of others) managed to stuff up the design.

I know the rule is across the EPL so we don't really have a choice and we know it's to make it harder to lob the bottles on to the pitch. However, I was in WSL for the friendly and in the self serve area they sell cartons of water, ie no lid can be taken off. For those of that persuasion, a formidable missile!!

To be clear, I'm not anti attached bottle lids per-se.
I just want them to design ones that actually work PROPERLY, without having to fiddle-fart arse around with them for ten minutes only for them to leak anyway.
