So far this morning:

* Internet keeps cutting out
* The send key on my samsung galaxy often disappears so you can't send a text
* Seagulls player does not work
* My phone often does not connect when trying to make a call
* Trying to install microsoft office on my laptop and activation key does not work
* Virgin TV freezes for ages when trying to change channel

I know this is a rant of first world problems but I do often wonder if life would be far more pleasurable and less stressful WITHOUT technology.

Do any others get techno-rage?

I often do and I have no patience at all when it comes to technology - sometimes I feel like launching my laptop out the windows - you are not alone!

The only thing I hate about technology is that my life is moving so fast. it's also a good thing as there's always something to do and I'm never bored.

Technology is also frustrating when it doesn't work!

Wilko, I'm with you on this one. It's like those technology adverts on the tv showing how wonderful their gadgets are only to put at the bottom of the screen in barely legible type "sequences shortened". You just know instantly they'll never work as good in real life when you get one!
Oh and whilst I'm ranting...here's an idea Nokia! When someone is calling me, I might actually want to answer the phonecall rather than have the phone automatically switch on the keypad lock after 2 seconds!

I am with the op on this, my laptop is generally messing me around despite running all the usual clean up thingies on it and getting rid of a lot files. Mozilla Firefox refused to co-operate with me after a new version was released a couple of months ago, I am now usingChrome and I am unimpressed with that as well.

As someone once memorably said in a magazine article having a good old rant about technology "...they should finish inventing the b***** things first before selling them".

If you have the Galaxy S2 I would recommend routing your phone and putting a good custom ROM on it. The stock Samsung ROM is dire for killing calls at random.

I have absolutely no idea what that means at all. It is a new phone, surely it should just work without having to f*** about with it?

I find nsc plays hell with my pc, phone and iPad. Trying to open threads sometimes kills my browsers...that includes safari chrome and Firefox as well as ie.

Could be giving nsc a rest for a while until this is sorted

Cutting out ?
Right near the vinegar stroke I hope, knowing what you spend all your time looking at.
You must be shooting dust by now.

I know what you mean. It seems as if we've been sold and have blithely accepted the "there'll be an update/patch/fix for any teething problems you may encounter" line. DVD player being a pain? "Oh yes, it was put on the market before they'd ironed out the glitches, so just download the update for it sir..."

You were against the introduction of the wireless telegraph, i'm sure your antecedents despised, the harnessing of steam and Caxtons Printing press among others, so this is nothing new

What annoys me is the fact that technology has gone beyond simply enhancing poeple's lives and now seems to be their entire life.
