I was going to go but when I tried to book tickets there were only a few single seats and a couple of groups of three left. It wouldn't let me buy two seats as I always left a single seat.

Decided that it wasn't meant to be as two tickets would have cost £60 and the DVD has just come out including the same jokes and it is only £14.99.

Hope it does cheer some fellow albion fans up after today.

Well, I guess the middle of the road masses that like really obvious humour, X-factor and Towie would, yes.
Well you're only wrong about me on middle of the road, liking obvious humour, x-factor and Towie! Just suspect most would prefer Michael M to Stephen M. No reason why you shouldn't have a good time tonight though. At least it's not John Bishop!!

I looked at tickets but at £30+ I thought it was a bit of a rip, especially compared to a lot of the Comedy Festival tickets where big name tickets were £15-£20

Well, did he cheer you up?
Was he any good and would you recommend the DVD?

Very funny, he really was good. Lots of the humour is about the 80's so if you are quite young I am not sure you would get all the jokes. Seen lots of stand up this year but he has been the best i've seen. BTW, I only paid £22 for tickets.

Seconded.

He was brilliant - really very funny. I have seen Michael MacIntyre in the past but Merchant was far better for me. I also found him more entertaining than Peter Kay who I saw a few months ago at the O2.

After Billy Connolly probably the best stand-up comedy night I have been to!

I didn't even know he was doing stand up until I saw an advert for his DVD the other day. To be honest the clips they showed didn't really sell it to me but I'd be keen to judge for myself so I'm downloading it as I type and will give it a watch later.

Great stand-up. Made fun of himself the whole way through and was very quick with his responses to hecklers.

I've got the DVD, as I'm a big fan of his input on the old XFM shows/Podcasts, but I really cringe when he goes all wacky and shouty, it's not his style. That said, there's still some great moments in the show.
